I tried, Etsy, but the connect link doesn't load. This all seems very hinky.
Use a different device. Use a browser and not the app.
I am using a browser
Try another browser or on a laptop
If you can't get it to work, it may be blocked by a browser extension on your device. And it's not "hinky."
I've had issues with certain websites due to my VPN before. So I turned my VPN off before doing the Plaid connection just in case. I know another seller mentioned he had issues with connecting Plaid due to his VPN as well.
Asking for my bank username and password, which links to various accounts and other personal info, is not hinky? I know there is another way to do that, but seriously?
Just use the "Manual" method. You have to give your routing number and account number but no passwords.
It won't let me.
You have to put in account # before the methods will show, then do manual. Before you do this make sure you have all you’re funds deposited, sometimes it takes 5 business days to do deposits after you verify the small deposits.
Hi,
I'm with you there. It's been a couple of weeks or so since I got the "verify with Plaid" email and I have not been able to verify yet. Etsy support reset my account info as initially it said I was entering the wrong account info even though I was entering it correctly using the same account that I was receiving payments to.
Since then, if I try to click the Plaid button, the page section just disappears. There doesn't seem to be a link there. I've tried to open in another tab, I've tried in different browsers. I've tried clearing my browser cache. I've tried in the app -- same result. I've emailed Etsy twice now over the course of a week about this with no resolution. And, now I seem to be not getting payments as they cleared my account info so I could proceed with a manual update. Now, I have 17 days left -- after that, apparently, if there's still not resolution my account will be suspended. Hope to get it resolved; it's very frustrating.
Im with you, I tried all that and its still not working, even talked to my bank.
Nothing works and no response from Etsy except a completely inapplicable form email. If they can't work out how to get my own funds to me, I won't be reopening my shop, obviously.
@SueRunyonDesigns: Often the first response you get from customer support is an automated reply meant to weed out the people who contact support over common issues that can be easily solved.
Every eMail from Etsy support should have a link something like "I Still Need Help". Click on that link in each reply from Etsy (or actually reply stating that you still need help) to keep the report alive otherwise Etsy assumes it is resolved. You may have to do this innumerable times, before anything is done but do not give up. DO NOT open a new issue or contact Etsy multiple times about the same issue (doing so closes the one you already opened and puts the new one on the bottom of the pile).
Thank you. Apparently you have to keep clicking the "I still need help" link, wait three days between irrelevant responses and click again and again. Do they still have real people "keeping commerce human" or not?
I understand the automated email to weed out inquiries that can easily be answered with a FAQ. After no response for days, though, on the same ticket, I did get on Etsy and start anew, answered the automated email. I did not realize that responding to this same ticket again to check in would put me at "the bottom of the stack." What is a reasonable amount of time to wait for a response? I keep getting the automated email from Etsy telling me I have x number of days left to verify with Plaid...but I can't do it. I've tried in (almost) every browser imaginable, as well as in the app on two different devices. It just won't load. The page section entirely disappears. Very frustrating.
Same here and I've been waiting 4 days on this last go around after two rounds of completely irrelevant form emails from them. I just keep getting notices from them that time is ticking down.
And I just got a third completely irrelevant email from them. Time for round four . . .
And a fourth irrelevant email. It's like they don't even read them at all. I'm keeping them down to about 2 sentences so it's easy for them too. But, with absolutely no help from customer service, the link actually finally started to load.
Is there anything you did that got the link to start loading where you could do the verification? Mine is still not and I have three days left to verify at this point. I've tried to do all the obvious things like clear browser caches, try different computers, etc. I tried to use the callback option, but the callback either gives me an error or 404 page when I try to submit.
@PNWFUN - Use chat.
Well, I couldn't find a chat link. Someone gave me a link to phone support, and I got an error message when I entered my phone...but apparently it went through as Etsy just called me back
How??? I cannot even seem to access chat. The only option it gives is email support. Nvr mind..I finally got through to phone support.
Beware! PLAID asks for bank account sign-on and password so they have access and can view your bank account history. DON'T EVER PROVIDE YOUR SIGN-ON AND PASSWORD TO ANYONE! Not sure why Etsy needs to verify your bank account in the first place? If a seller isn't getting their money, THEY will investigate verifying their own account.
Well, Etsy just switched to requiring seller accounts to verify with Plaid -- apparently, in batches as I just got the notification in October. I've encountered Plaid before -- if you have a Venmo account, you need to verify with Plaid. They provide bank account verification services.
