Hi,
I have a huge issue, because I accidentally deleted the email address I used at Etsy as a seller.
I tried to reach Etsy with chat and Email several times, asking for changing the email address, but no response for weeks.
Maybe the problem is, that I cannot file all security questions, because I never sold a thing nor I bought something so far, and I only have a bank account registered at Etsy, not a credit card. So I cannot give them a order number or the last digits of a credit card.
I cannot change anything in my account, because I assume everytime I tried, the system sent a Confirmation code to my deleted address.
It would be really better, if you could register a second email adress
I hope, somebody can help me.
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards, Marion
With 2FA, you get 10 codes to use in an emergency, if you don't have access to your e-mail or phone, or however you set up your 2FA, so you can use one of those.
If you did not keep those, as you have no sales, and only a few listings, I would set up a new shop.
Since you have no sales in your shop I would recommend you start a new shop using the correct email address. Unfortunately you will not be able to use the same shop name gain but you can add something to it (like a '2' or 'DE'). You will need to verify your bank account again in the new shop and you will need to add a valid credit or debit card in the billing section otherwise you won't get paid it you make a sale.
I agree with the others. The simplest—and least frustrating—solution is to start a new shop entirely. Yeah, you will need a new shop name (or variation), but it solves everything.
Please understand that this is for your protection. If it were easy to change the email or banking info, the potential for fraud is astronomical.

Hi again,
Surprisingly, I just got a reply from Etsy via email. I still had to answer a few security questions.
I hope it works now.
But thanks for the quick answers here! If I can edit everything in my account again, I will install 2FA immediately.
If not - I guess I have no choice but to open a new store. Which would be very frustrating because I would have to change a lot of forms. And setting up the items would also take time. I think I would stop using Etsy for the time being and just keep it running on the other platforms.
LOL - I think I even cannot close the shop....
And again a happy Hi
Great news! Kendra from Etsy and I had a good email exchange. She replied and asked within a short time, so now I actually have a new working email address in my account!
@SalmagundiArtDesign For any further issues only use one email and use that email only to continue with any issue. Opening up several tickets forced your request to the bank of the line.
If you use 2fa make sure to print out the back up codes and keep them. Also if you ever need to change email, do not delete the old email until you get the verification code from Etsy.
thank you. I used only one email after my tries do get contact with the chat weren't successful. And the deletion of the email address was accidentally. I know now that I should wait until the new address is shown as the standard address in my account. And the back up codes are saved in my really good and save password manager
I'm sorry you are having issues too ... I tried to ask a question on chat and then the girl on chat went away and left me hanging - so I called although the number was from a google search and they said to confirm my email ... the response I got on my email said only NULL ... I sent an email via the help however they never read the issues in my email and answered a question I didn't ask ... I'm pretty sure ETSY and all the people working there have Left the Planet ... WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR! .... I'm sorry you are struggling as well ...
@MyMenagerieGifts: "...the number was from a google search..." Unfortunately the odds are that you have provided a scammer with some of your personal information. Etsy does not have a published phone number or eMail address for customer service.
"...however they never read the issues in my email and answered a question I didn't ask..." Often the first response you get from customer support is an automated reply meant to weed out the people who contact support over common issues that can be easily solved.
Every eMail from Etsy support should have a link something like "I Still Need Help". Click on that link in each reply from Etsy (or actually reply stating that you still need help) to keep the report alive otherwise Etsy will assume that it is resolved. You may have to do this innumerable times, before anything is done but do not give up. DO NOT open a new issue or contact Etsy multiple times about the same issue (doing so appears to close the one you already opened and puts the new one on the bottom of the pile).
Etsy doesn't have a number to call, you googled and got a scammer
Whatever info you gave them, double check everything and change what you can
