I'm wondering if I'm in a test because the byline under my shopname is not showing. It's not there when I'm logged in or when incognito. I've checked a couple of other shops that I knew had one and it's not there either. Isn't this something trawled by search engines?
They are slowly removing everything that makes us individual and stand out.. our names will be gone next
We are being absorbed into the Etsy branding. I haven't been able to see the byline for over a month now (no Star Seller stats, Announcement at the bottom etc.)
I'm not seeing bylines either. Nothing clickable on that banner, years on Etsy wrong, byline gone, nothing about the star seller now showing smooth shipping, rave reviews, etc. IMO this layout is awful.
I can NOT find the link to a sellers "Bio, public profile" that used to be on the upper right, where the "contact" button was.
I went to a sellers shop I favorited that has 3 shops and I can't find that "public profile" that lists her other shops and I don't remember exactly what the other shops names are. I could contact her but I shouldn't have to.
This info SHOULD be visible and have a link since Etsy requires you to disclose ALL shops.
On account settings, it states that info in the "public profile" is visible to the public.
With this NEW layout, NO it is NOT visible!
I have looked everywhere, clicked on "account", and other links and none of the links go to that public profile/bio page.
Maybe I'm missing something.
I messaged another seller and she can't find that "public profile" either.
I think they silently removed the option to see "Bio, public profile" several weeks ago
@CryzalisMasksUK
That makes no sense since Etsy requires sellers to disclose multiple accounts/shops on that page.
But YET on the help pages it still states you have to disclose multiple shops/accounts on the profile page.
Which IMO is kind of pointless if no one can see it.
Just another change that was NOT thought out well at all with conflicting info on the help pages.
All this work to make the shops look worse is just puzzling.
As for some information, it legally has to be easy to find
Now we start looking like all the shops who lack all the required information
So those not doing well with customer service or / and do not have the legally required policies are harder to spot instantly, if you do not know what you are looking for.
The Shop Title (byline) is now at the top of your About section in teeny weeny text.
Does Google still scrape it? Who knows.
We are being absorbed by "The Borg!!!
@AnniebelloPaper With this new Shop layout (which I am still seeing), the Shop Title has moved to just above the About Page (it looks like an afterthought, like the Shop Announcement being just above the Reviews). And I found out by accident, the only way I can see a Seller's Profile (because of course the Avatar/Name is now missing from the top Right of the Shop Front), is by scrolling down to the Review Responses left by the Seller. Only then can I see their Profile info.
When I first saw this new layout, I thought the Shop Title was completely removed. And yes, I do believe it still gets crawled by search engines.
They have moved the shop description tag line to the top of the About Section. It still shows up in search engines as a shop description. So even though it's somewhat hidden on Etsy, it is still doing an important function.
