Maybe this buyer had opened too many cases. I can't imagine any other reason for Etsy to suspend buyer's account

Buyers do not have to have an account to buy from shops: they can place an order as a guest. This is likely someone trying to get you to do business off of the platform, where they are better able to scam you.

If you receive an actual order, you will see it in your "Orders and Shipping" section and you will receive an email from Etsy notifying you that you have a sale, and there will be a notification in your dashboard as well.

I don't think a buyer can message you from a suspended account so this is most likely a scam.

You can call his bluff and tell him to contact Etsy for help with his account.

Beware of suddenly getting a message from "Etsy" saying you need to reverify your account. If not in the From Etsy message folder it is a scammer. These things generally follow each other. A scammer saying they can't buy then a fake Etsy message saying a customer reached out and you need to reverify your account.Sometimes they tell you you need to have money in that account..then they steal it all.

99% chance this is a scammer. 1% chance they a regualr shopper who has their account closed(but they could still buy as a guest)..so 100% a scammer, I would tell them they need to contact Etsy then spam their message. And wait for more scammers pretending to be Etsy to reach out..and spam them too.

All you can do is send the message to spam as it likely a scammed or respond with a message such as...

"Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do as a seller on this platform.  You, the customer, have to contact Etsy about your own account as I, the seller, have no authority to do anything with it nor can I move forward outside the platform for a transaction as it would be against Etsy's policies which I as a responsible seller will not violate. I apologize that I can not assist any longer other an to advize you to contact Etsy customer support. Thank you for interest."

If they persistent, spam the scam. 

Also, now that you received a message like this, you may receive more or others claiming to be from Etsy that they need to verify your account and ask for personal information such as credit card number and such. If it is the real Etsy, those messages will located in your "From Etsy" folder of your messages which is below your inbox.

help yourself by looking more like a pro. Your shopfront is incomplete which etsy will like to downgrade in search. Your shop does not inspire buyer confidence.
