"Sales in your store are temporarily suspended to complete verification. Ρlease prοvide your email address sо we can send you a verification form."
I got the above message from "Etsy" - however, I'm hesitant because they should have my email address. The message is from:

PS: The message in question did not come from Etsy, and we have already actioned the account attempting to impersonate admin.
Delete or legit? Thank you!
I got this today as well. What’s going on? I don’t want to send my email to “bot manager”
I'm really sorry this happened to you as well. There has been an infestation of scammers here unfortunately, targeting new Sellers as well as seasoned ones. Oftentimes, they appear shortly after someone lists their first item/s. These thieves are using "Verification" as one of their scams, posing as Etsy Staff/Support, etc. When you receive a LEGIT Message from Etsy Support/Staff, etc., it will appear in the "From Etsy" Folder (in Messages). If it isn't there, Mark the Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller). *The "From Etsy" Folder is not on the App, however (you must use a browser instead).
Also for future, many scammers are posing as "Buyers", stating they need your email for an Order. They don't, Etsy already has it. When you receive a LEGIT Order, it will appear in "Orders & Shipping" (Left Column of Shop Dashboard); if it isn't there, you have no Order. Mark the scammer's Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller). And never click on links or engage with them.
I really don't understand why Etsy can't nail these FAKE accounts who are impersonating Etsy Staff/Support, etc. It's happening way too often. Here is the Announcement about the "From Etsy" Folder (currently this is in past Announcements).

Here is the other Announcement "Protect Your Account from Scammers" (it was re-pinned top of the Forum for a short while, but got thrown under past Announcements, where it currently lives.).

Hope this is helpful to you, and may this cr-p cease.
Hey, thank you so much for such a quick and thorough response!
There’s also a person(people?) posting my art to instagram and Fb marketplace. All today. Do you think these are isolated issues? Should I just change my Password?
Thanks!
Patrick (Ivedyedinside)
@Ivedyedinside Are they posting your Art in the way of sharing it? (to Instagram and FB). I would change my password only if you clicked a link from the scammers Message. If you didn't, I wouldn't change the password.
The two have nothing to do with each other. Scammers are after money, period. Art stealers are looking for the next big thing to come along so they can make money off of selling it. File a DMCA with FB and IG and have them taken down. And watch for them to pop up everywhere else. Good luck with your shop.
I, too, keep getting this same message that my shop is temporarily closed and to send my email address. A coule weeks ago, I was notified that I need to verify my bank info etc. I tried, and it never seemed to work. Is this all scam? What’s going on with Etsy??
@RosestillArt This is a scam, and I'm sorry you were targeted. There has been an infestation of these goons here unfortunately, targeting new Sellers as well as seasoned ones. If you gave them any banking information whatsoever, please contact your bank and cancel your credit card. Also, report this theft to the authorities; it is a cyber crime. You'll want to do a virus scan on all of your devices as well.
Honestly, I don't get why Etsy can't nail these FAKE accounts who are impersonating Etsy Staff/Support, etc. It's happening way too often. Here is the Announcement about the "From Etsy" Folder (currently this is in past Announcements).

I just had same message and entertained it. They send you to a scam website where you need to "verify" your account with your credit card.
I keep getting messages like this inside Etsy 3/20/24. Who can I contact?
