Temp suspended to complete verification? Is this legit?

"Sales in your store are temporarily suspended to complete verification. Ρlease prοvide your email address sо we can send you a verification form."

I got the above message from "Etsy" - however, I'm hesitant because they should have my email address. The message is from:

[This content has been removed by Moderation. We ask that you please review Section 1, Item 1 of our Community Policies before posting in the Forums.]

PS: The message in question did not come from Etsy, and we have already actioned the account attempting to impersonate admin.

NOPE.  SCAM.  Mark as Spam, sounds like Etsy already removed the scammer.

Is this in your email or is it in Etsy messages?  Is your store up and running?  It 'looks rather scammy to me, anytime someone asks for your email that is suspect.

Did you not see a pop up on the message page that if a message was from Etsy it would be in the "FROM ETSY" section on the message page?
If it's NOT there it's NOT from Etsy.

You also should have had a light orange BOX warning right on the message section about these scams.
BUT if you clicked "OK I got it" without reading the info, then you won't see it again.

There's plenty of info on the help pages about getting paid here.
A MUST read for any new seller before they ever open a shop.

There's nothing that states on the help pages that you have to send Etsy or a buyer your email, your bank/CC info etc to get paid or having to pay Etsy $100's of dollars to "verify" your account.

I wish the other boxes would permanently disappear when you clicked "OK I got it" rather than this one.  This one is important but the other ones are just annoying and important to Etsy like using their postage.

If your shop was suspended it would SHOW it was suspended. That is a scammer.

I got the same thing… I think it’s a scam. It says to respond QR and they will send me a QR code to scan. I’m going to block them. I don’t think the official Etsy logo is a black circle anyway.. I was on here looking to see how f anyone else got the message. If my funds don’t deposit tomorrow then I will contact customer service directly. But I’m. It going to respond to this email.

That is a scam. The easiest thing is to view your live shop, If it is there it is not suspended. Suspended has the suspended banner/message.  Plus the message would need to be in your From Etsy folder to be legit. Do NOT respond to the email.

No need to contact Etsy support--it is a SCAM! Best thing to do is put it in your spam folder. (We don't have a SCAM folder!)

Do not engage or give them ANY iformation.

There have been hundreds, if not thousands of these threads about scammers.  Probably not all the SAME scammer but the approaches are all very similar.

@CrepesAndCastlesShop Etsy knows there are scams going on. Just mark the message as SPAM. If you gave them any financial info contact your bank.

Real messages from Etsy will be in the 'from Etsy' folder.

@BoujeeDesignzUK  You need to call your bank or cc provider asap and let them know what happened.  Now that they have your banking details, they'll attempt to steal $$.  You might have to cancel that card.

As per above--if you gave them ANY information contact your bank, cc provider. If you gave them your email change the password.

It is pretty easy to tell if your shop is suspended.

If Etsy suspends you temporary they put your shop in vacation mode.

If it is a permanent suspension your shop will not even appear--it will simply say "(shop name) is no longer selling on etsy" .

As long as your shop "appears" normal  when you look at it, it is not suspended
