Technical glitch in assistance chat

Hi, I have seen other threads on this topic but am unable to add to them so I am starting fresh, sorry.

I am unable to use the assistance chat anymore after the agent I chatted with never ended our chat on his part. I never recieved the « how was this chat » poll and I am left hanging with no response for over a week now. Everyday I send a message to see if it’s resolved and it’s not. So I can never talk to assistance anymore. I opened several tickets and they are either answered with generic random and unrelated prewritten answers or closed immediately without an answer. I deleted all cookies and cleared history, tried with multiple browsers, the app, my phone, my iPad and both my computers. The chat is unusable on every device. What are our options to get help on technical glitches?! If it is a known glitch on the way it be resolved, can we know about it? Feeling really unheard and not taken seriously.

Try cleaning cookies, cache, all those internet crumbs.

And opening multiple tickets puts you at the back of the queue with each ticket. Use one and keep responding with I still need help.

Good luck. Getting help on Etsy can take some patience and persistence.

Thanks for your answer. I tried it all and cleared everything. It looks like it’s linked to my account and not my device, because the chat is not working on all my devices and all browsers.

Also, within minutes of opening tickets, it says « the request is complete. If you need further help, create a new request. »

I never have had chat at all.  I've always had to email support if I needed help.  So I have not found not having chat a hindrance.

I suggest that the previous chat agent did not close it down properly and hence you cannot initiate a new request.

I honestly don't know if Etsy will do anything about this as chat is outsourced.  It is possible from their end that Etsy does not see a problem hence that is why the tickets are being closed.  If one is still open reply to that one and ask for help with chat.

I also think the chat was not ended on their part. I sent a few messages everyday for over a week in the hopes that the agent picks it up and finally ends it but no luck.

I also tried replying keywords/phrases (help, talk to an agent, end this chat, my email address) in the hopes of prompting the chat bot but no luck again.

II recently got hacked so had to change all my bank accounts, etc.  I changed my bank account number on Etsy and the new one showing is not mine!!  I had a long chat yesterday that ended in Etsy saying that it might take a while which is ok but they will not respond to the chat I have going with them and guess I can't start another.

I could probably find their email address but see that another responder said they had emailed them so would love to have the address. 

I am almost afraid to use my computer because of the hack. Wish we could call them!

Etsy no longer has emails. They closed those down years ago. If you find something by going to the internet that is a scammer, pretending to be Etsy and not the real Etsy.

When people in the forum say they "emailed" what they really mean is they sent a message thru help>contact. and yes, I wish they would use the correct word!

If you use the contact  method you will get a bot response first (and maybe beyond). Just keep replying to THAT message with "I still need help" until you eventually read a human.
