Technical Bug/Weakness - Not possible to choose Shipping Service for 10-30 days DHS/Other

Hi,

Context

I sell phone cases with my designs on it.
Some are printed in the US, shipped to the US or shipped abroad.
Others are printed abroad and shipped abroad (or in very unique circumstances, back to the US).

Problem Statement

Creating a new shipping profile:

  1. Country of Origin: USA (Thats where my hypothetical case is printed
    1. Processing time: 1-5 days or custom, not a problem
      1. Domestic: Shipping services all USPS, UPS, Fedex etc. 2-5 or 5-7 days. No Problem
      2. Elsewhere, i.e. abroad: Ditto all same services USPS, UPS, Fedex and DHL between 2-7 days.
    2. The problem is the fact that my phone case printer, in the US, uses DHL and takes 10-30 days, from the moment the phone case leaves the printers dock, to reach the customer. When in "Elsewhere" ===> "Shipping Services" there is no "Other" option (anymore) where you can chose 10-30 days, or 15-30 days.
  2. Country of Origin: For instance Germany
    1. Domestic shipping: all good choices
    2. Elsewhere: And suddenly when choosing "Shipping Services", the "Other" option is available.

This does not make sense at all, because when country of origin ("The Country You Are Shipping From; per Etsy) is Germany, because the customer who placed the order in Germany, I don't need 10-30 days Shipping Service.

However, when my country of origin is the USA, i.e. my printer ships from the USA to my customer in Germany or Switzerland, and my printer uses DHL which takes 10-30 days to deliver to my customer, I DO need a "Shipping Service" option like "Other" that offers 10-30 days delivery, from the moment it leaves the printer's docks.

This is clearly a mistake/bug in the system!

How can we get this fixed because there is no way around it other than:

  1. Increase processing times to 10-30 days and
  2. Shipping services to anything that has 1-2 days delivery.

This is dangerous because:

  1. It messes with Etsy's "Must Ship by" and "Customer Expects Delivery by" calculations.
  2. If anything goes wrong with the printer and they get backed up, e.g. during the holidays, it creates a big(ger) problem.

So, the million dollar question is, is this a technical glitch and/or a technical oversight by Etsy?

Either way how and when can this be fixed?
It severely impacts my ability to expand international sales.
I can imagine I'm not the only one who has this problem, if you ship internationally.

etsy allows other for some ship-from countries, but not many, they are gradually removing "other" as an option

Your listing has to have the ship-from country you actually ship that listing from to wherever your customer is,

you can't say it ships from USA, if for your german customer, it ships from germany,, and vice versa

basically, if you have an item, that can ship from 4 different locations, depending on where it is shipping to, 
you need 4 different listings

so for each ship-from, put the ship to countries, for that ship-from location

.....

If, when someone buys from Germany, and it says ships from USA, if it actually ships from germany, they can open a NAD case, and be refunded in full from you, and keep the item

also, it is illegal, as you would be telling etsy to  add and collect import VAT, which would not be legally due

you 100% have to ship from, where you say you ship from for that customer, in the shipping profile
