I have been suspended supposedly because there is an issue with my Social Security number and my photo ID.  I uploaded my drivers license initially but my name didn't match because I used my initial.  I checked my SSN, it's correct, my license matched my name.  It says it was accepted, then I got the tax id message, so I edited and used my passport instead.  My name is written the same on all of these.  I verified my name with Social Security by confirming the name they use to contact me.  But the site gives me the "no" icon every time I try to edit.

The site also asks constantly for an EIN.  I have never had one for this business as I never had employees, I report my taxes using my social security number.

I have contacted help dozens of times, I have gotten some emails noting the same problem, but the site won't let me fix or even re enter it.  The emails also don't appear when I look for my past help requests.  It's almost like I have two places the information goes.

I have had endless problems matching my name and ID for Etsy.  I fixed the initial problem which was I had not used my middle name on the form but my driver's license and passport use it.  Then there was an issue with state corporate ID.  I uploaded my corporate registration page.  Etsy now wants me to edit the name of the primary owner (me) edit the date of birth (already correct) and upload a government issued ID for the "new" owner.  When I registered my LLC, I didn't use my middle name because I never do.  The state is fine with it.  Etsy wants an ID that doesn't exist, all of my picture ID's use my middle name and the state doesn't issues ID's for corporate owners.  Etsy asked for a control number, which was on the document I sent, so I will do that and nothing else.  I don't know what to do if that doesn't work, but unless Etsy can accept that, I am done with Etsy and furious because I spent so much time setting up my shop and wasted so much time on nonexistent customer service.

I was verified by Plaid for my financial info.  Etsy keeps asking for tax information that they already have in correct form.  I mistakenly put my SSN in for Employer Identification Number, but I am not required to have an EIN and don't in fact have one.  But the site will not let me edit this despite telling me to edit the information.

Based on your shop name you are a LLC, you should have been given an EIN when you registered your LLC.

There are a LOT of tax advantages to using an EIN rather than a SS# so if you got one when you did your LLC, use that.

Or maybe I misunderstood. I've had my EIN for 21 years and I've had employees and not had employees, and I have several businesses under that single EIN. Makes tax time a tiny bit easier.

I'm sorry you are having troubles. Every time I have to re-verify I cringe and tell myself that if I get stuck in a loop, take off and go visit my grandkids that live in another state for awhile.

In one of my re-verify quests, I didn't have my SS# because when I set up, it wasn't required since I used my EIN.

Then after the re-verify stuff started, I had to enter my own SS# which I wasn't all that happy about.

Another time I had to add a phone number that didn't have to be there.

I dread re-verification almost as much as I do a well-woman checkup.
