Suspension After Reinstatement – Need Advice!

Jump to solution

Hi fellow sellers,

I’m reaching out for help after a frustrating experience with my shop, TheWolfard.

Timeline:

  1. My shop was reinstated on January 30, 2024, after resolving prior case rate issues.

  2. It was re-suspended on January 31 with no new violations and now shows conflicting statuses:

    • Buyers see: “Taking a short break” (Holiday Mode).

    • Seller dashboard: “Permanently suspended.”

Etsy Support claims this is a ‘system error’ but hasn’t resolved it despite weeks of appeals.

Questions:

  • Has anyone else faced a wrongful re-suspension due to system errors?

  • How did you escalate this to get a resolution?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You images have been stolen, so maybe Etsy bots have concluded that you are reselling your items.

I only checked a couple of your listings and all of them have been stolen by Amazon, you will have to contact Amazon to have your designs & images taken down. You could also try sending a video to Etsy showing you are making these products.

etsy shows customers different things that it shows you.... the reason your case rate dropped, is because you were not selling,

so your 4 cases less than 3 * would go, due to the 3 month time shut, n because you were doing anything better

You are a Uk shop, with no right to withdraw, no gdpr, and no address and e-mail address in sellers details,

your shop is not even legal,

maybe it's all caught up with you

On your website you say you are in Ohio, on Facebook it says you are in Texas, and on Etsy you’re in the UK.  Maybe Etsy has concerns about your business, look for an email from them explaining the issue

the website is so full of spelling mistakes, "Broad Games" and "Bare Ware" (are these some sexist 70s sitcom shows?)

The About images do not look appealing when it comes to "handmade" Nor do the Shop members details. One person doing all that making and tech person in Pakistan who is probably closest to the actual factory.

I would suggest moving your efforts to another platform such as Ebay or Amazon, both of which welcome your massed produced items and probably don't care where you are actually located.  Good luck............

For handmade on Etsy

YOU have to be handmaking it,

Etsy's rules are different to e-bay and Amazon.

If you are in the UK, you are handmaking it in UK.

If it is being handmade in Pakistan, then YOU are not handmaking it, so cannot list it as handmade by you

.....

Also,

You do NOT have a GDPR policy, a right to withdraw policy, or your address and e-mail address in sellers details, all of which are legal requirements, not just etsy policies

@TheWolfard: While I can understand your position, you need to consider how Etsy looks at things. Etsy wants a "unique end-product" so if others are selling your products the uniqueness goes away. "Made By" on this platform means made by you personally or by someone who you have individually listed by name in your about section. Handmade has a much narrower meaning on Etsy than it does on other platforms.

We can only speculate, but it is possible that the repeated suspensions are triggered by technical violations.

As @CraftyCornishMaids points out you appear to not be in compliance with the details required to be disclosed in your "Seller Details". For example, "... you must disclose your name (with enough detail to know who you are, such as your full name or company name), email address, phone number, and geographic address." per https://www.etsy.com/legal/policy/selling-to-eu-and-uk-buyers/239965962014

so you have an entire city in Pakistan as your 'production partner'?

DUDE, really?

sorry, but I have absolutely no confidence that you are making these. And given that you have listed an entire city (population is 20.38 million per Google) as your 'production partner'...that to me means you are shopping the markets.

sorry. I think you may have some mega issues to resolve.
