Hi all
I have been going through some listings to add links back to my shop page in the description. I have already got a few links to some categories in a handful of listings.
If I use the subdomain method (sharing link) that looks like “shopname.etsy.com” then Etsy is adding /uk/ to the link behind the scenes. It looks like a script is running to append “uk” with slashes to links automatically. This results in Page not found, 403.
I am in the UK. I found a shop in Vietnam who puts links to their shop page in the description, and the same thing happens. When I click it looks for “shopname.etsy.com/uk/“ which doesnt exist and goes to 403.
My account region is set to UK. My browsing/buyer region is set to UK.
I CAN use ugly links, the full URL to my shop or category works.
Anyone know anything about the Etsy website adding regions to URLs automatically?
Are you talking about the link back to your front page at the end of your description. If so, I checked a few of your listing and found it on 2 of them and it worked as it should.
Hi, thanks for looking.
Yes I mean the link at the end of my descriptions.
The current links are working, but when I use the short form “shopname.etsy.com” the website is adding “uk” to the end of the URLs and thus invalidating the links.
I checked another store owners links and it adds “uk” when I click their links too, so it seems to be a front end quirk…
Hi again, I really like the etsy.me shortening links I see in your descriptions, are they generated through bitly? Thanks
