Are they even embarassed? Almost weekly, it's one thing broken and then another and another. People who sell on Ebay and elsewhere, is this an issue there too?
I have never had any issues with Ebay.
Yeah, I figured Ebay was pretty solid.
How could something like this keep happening? I wish someone with experience in web design could chime in.
Etsy has been around as a platform far too long to have so many recurring issues.
@CuratedVintageCloset I have 0 in stats right now as well. You would think after having a site for 19 years, they would have figured this stuff out.
Precisely! I just commented the same thing -- this platform is almost 20 years old and they're messing up as though they are a startup in over its head.
I sold on ebay as well for a few years. Maybe there were issues but it seemed to be a much more stable platform overall. I mean, there have to have been glitches and problems but nothing like the daily "what fresh heck (don't want to offend) is this?" we seem to deal with here.
They rarely even acknowledge their errors. Like it has to be HUGE, go on for months, and affect tons of people for them to actually say anything publicly about it.
No such issues on Ebay and if there were you could get someone to call you back straight away!
Being able to list as a seller and search as a buyer is elementary!
My dashboard shows this message in a yellow banner:
Looks like we're unable to show your latest stats right now. We'll update them as soon as we can.
My theory as to why they keep getting away with it, and basically don't even care, is that they know we are, by and large, stuck here. It's not like a few 100,000 will get up and leave over this and even if they did, Etsy don't care. They'd still have plenty.
Companies are great and very customer-oriented while they are ramping up user base. Once they have achieved desired momentum they don't have to be great any longer. This can be seen in all types of biz.
My stats have been fine even when others reported issues. This is the first time in 10+ years that the stats are not working for me at all.
It appears they are adding information to the stats which might be why the breakdown.
If you really need stats now then go to Google analytics.
@ArtDollsbyJD Etsy has had 19 years to get this right. There is no reason for all of these glitches. Someone is NOT paying enough attention until the damage is done, and then, no explanation and perhaps slowly get around to correcting them. After all, we are just referred to as "churn". If the "churn" wasn't here, they would all be unemployed. They should start giving us the value we deserve rather than just talking as if they care.
