Stat Issue
I was hoping someone here could lend some insight-
After 13 years of working tirelessly on Etsy, I was FINALLY acknowledged as a star seller. I handmake cards and other paper goods, so meeting the $300 every review period is not an easy feat. Well, I finally did it! A day or two afterwards, I get another sale. I sent it out the following day prior to the shipping deadline. So, the question is why then, did my shipping stats drop down from 100% to 92%? I am at a loss.
Additionally, the last few days seems like no matter how much promotion my work gets by me, my views are non existent. Almost like there's a brick wall stopping me from being seen. anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks to all who may have answers for me.
Jodi

Re: Stat Issue
As for the stats, when did the order actually ship? The system doesn't sync instantly and sometimes it can take a couple of days to acknowledge the tracking and update the metrics for the SS program. Also, just make sure all your shipping profiles have estimated times on them, I believe (not positive) that if it is missing this, then it glitches within the program. Last possibility off the top of my head, how did you buy your shipping label? Was it through Etsy or another service? If through somewhere else, make sure the correct shipper was chosen from the menu and there was no errors when inputting the tracking number. Even when copying, an extra space at the beginning or end can cause it to not be recognized.
I actually don't look at my views so I can't say if there's been a decrease, and I know you're not asking for a critique, but I'd just like to recommend trying to brighten up your photos a bit. They seem very gray/blue. If you are in search results surrounded by other shop's photos they might be too dull to grab people's attention. You have some very cute cards, but I don't think their photos are doing them justice. Just a thought.

Re: Stat Issue
Thanks for your reply. My shipping profiles are set. The order came in late on the 3rd and was shipped the morning of the 5th. At this point, I had 100% on my shipping. I don't use Etsy labels. That's never been an issue in my 13 years of selling. I appreciate your comment about my photos. It's odd that I am not seeing them in the same light as you are-they look fine to me on my end. however, with that said, someone else said something similar to me a while ago and this was after Etsy changed the size or whatever they did with the photos we select. I'll see what I can do on my end. Thank you for your time and comments.

Re: Stat Issue
Ig you go to your star seller stats it will give you a breakdown of which order caused the problem.

Re: Stat Issue
I appreciate your answer, but I was at 100%. I got an order a couple days later, sent it out the day after it was ordered, and the stats dropped. therefore, there shouldn't have been any issue.

Re: Stat Issue
Did you send it with tracking? If not, Etsy doesn't consider it sent on time without that proof. Etsy Labels has a cheap envelope with Pitney Bowes tracking, which they will recognize for Star Seller purposes.

Re: Stat Issue
There's a definite glitch happening, and I've tried to talk to customer support about it, but it didn't do much good. I always add tracking (or a customs #) and Etsy is stating I didn't in Oct. It took me out of Star Seller. I try not to put too much into the Star Seller status b/c, as a buyer, I don't look for that if I'm interested in a product.

Re: Stat Issue
@19Designs: "... my shipping stats drop down from 100% to 92%?" You need to check the applicable CSV file on your Star Seller page (last review period for December star) to see what Etsy thinks is late or otherwise has something wrong with it. In particular make sure that *Had processing time?* = yes, *Ship by* has a date, *Tracking/label date* has a date, and *Shipped on time?* = yes. Remember that Star Seller dates / times are in UTC not your time zone.
If the shipping company is supported by Etsy make sure that the shipped date, tracking number and shipping company show correctly on the actual order. Etsy relies on a third party vendor for tracking (and tracking number validation) and uses the data on the order.
Does the actual order show as at least "in transit"? Has the package been scanned? Sometimes a tracking number cannot be validated until after the first scan is publicly available.
An unsupported shipping company or invalid / unverified tracking number equals shipped without tracking.
