We made sure to have 100% for Tracked and On-Time Shipping for the period from June 1st to August 31st, 2025, and yet we didn’t receive the badge that would have given us Top Seller status.
We did receive the other two badges thanks to our 5-star reviews and our 100% response rate.
Don’t we get the badge when we’re at 100%?
Hand delivered/pick up will count as not shipped on time for SS, simply because there is no supporting evidence to show shipment or delivery. If you value SS ( I personally don't) you need to ship every order with tracking and according to your stated schedule.
Some countries have a minimum value under which tracking is not required, but the minimums tend to be quite low and not every country has affordable tracked shipping rates.
I would not get hung up on Star Seller, it really doesn't matter. In the 4 or so years it has been in place, I have only managed to get it a handful of times and it makes no difference to me whether I have it or not.
Did you meet the minimum requirements during that period? That's 5 sales and $300.
They have to have reached the minimum has the have two of the badges. You can't get any of them if you don't meet the minimum
Technically no one gets any of the badges now unless they qualify for the SS.
You must sell at least $300 item value also.
As audreytherese and NanaLetha said, you may have not met the 5 Sales/$300.00 requirement. I met 5 Sales, but was short $30.00, and did not get the Badge. That part of the Metrics never made sense to me, So in other words, $30.00 would have made the difference betw. stellar Customer Service with a Badge, vs. not not quite as good.
ETA: Forgot to add; if you don't reach the Sales No./Sales Dollar Amt., you also don't receive the Individual Badges (Messaging, Shipped on Time w/Tracking).
Last month on the next to last day of the month, I was $8.89 short - and I got an $8 order which left me $.89 short. An hour later, I got another order for $8 which put me over the top. These were not "friendly" orders - both were from complete stranger customers...lol
This month, I had 2 messages from a Forum reader and somehow I missed the first one - with only 5 messages in the past 3 months, that was enough to cost me my SSS.
This is the first time since inception that I have not had the SSB in this shop.
The good thing is that not having it probably isn't going to tank my sales because this shop has been struggling for the past 3 months...LOL
We shall see what happens...lol
Etsy used my net profit amount, not sales amount for the star seller status. And I didn't get the badge. My sales amount was over $300.
@mommawhazelsquilts I know. Last night, I ended up getting an Order that put me $9.00 over the $30.00 I was short on. You know that saying, "A day late, and a dollar short":) I've always thought that was such a silly part of the Metrics. Etsy said the Metrics were built on what Buyers cared about. I hardly think Buyers care about something like that. As a Buyer, I know I don't.
Yes, we did calculate it and it was supposed to be fine. A friend also bought two items for us to make sure we reached the $300. Even so, when reloading the statistics, it didn’t appear, even though it was still the 30th. Could it be a bug?
We had 5 sales already for the past month, so that part is fine too.
We did Get the badge for 5 stars and the badge for answering message. Only the delivery badge is missing and when we go to previous period it says 100%.
@FILGONE Did you add the tracking number the day you shipped? You cannot add it the day after you shipped. It doesn't count. Look at the CSV file to see what is missing.
Also did you make sure when adding the tracking number that the shipper name was correct? Even if the tracking number is valid for shipping but the wrong name appears next to it, it is considered not shipped.
@FILGONE The last few days of the month are not factored in
I always forget about this.
That's not true - see my post above.
I lacked $8.89 on the 30th of July and the two sales that I got on the 30th put me over the top.
Yes we add the tracking number even if it don't work in France with Mondial relay. That would by nice to make it work.

If I read it well there is on order from the 30th of may that count on the period? because the shipping is on July? It count as not tracking, because it was not shipped but give it by hand.
So that means if we want star seller we have to pay delivery with tracking even if we are in the same city? We have no way for the person to say Ok I received it?
You are correct, in person delivery/pickup does not count for Star Seller because there is no way for Etsy to verify it happened.
Yes, orders are counted in the month they are due to be shipped by, because Etsy doesn't look at them until they have been due to be shipped. Most orders placed on the last couple days of the month count in the following month, sometimes even earlier orders depending on your processing time.
I paid for shipping with tracking on 2 separate orders going to someone whose apartment I can literally see from my front porch (they don't know where I live and that I'm that close, I don't use my home address on my return labels).
I guess the Star Seller thing is faulty - I have a 5 stars review record straight, but in my shop front it is shown as 4,9. Bugs me no end!
The Star rating in your shopfront is based on reviews left in the last 12 months.
Star Seller only counts reviews left in the last 3 months.
You received a 4 star in May and a 1 star in Jan, so no, you dont have straight 5 star review record for the last year, sorry.
I actually wouldn't worry too much about being a star seller. I have it, and you can't see it. It is all the way down on the page where no one goes so they don't see it. I made a banner that says star seller, but I honestly don't think being a star seller has helped me from the times that I have had it. I don't see any more views, visits or sales because of it.
Your Star Seller logo is right next to your shop name at the top of the page...where it always has been...
STAR SELLER in inch high capitals in your banner looks a bit...
I'd remove that.
@TheButtonista Yes, I know the Star is up there. What does that do for me?? All the information regarding the star seller is at the bottom of the page. I'm sure that a lot of buyers don't even know what that star is about. I mentioned that I don't even think that being a star seller helps anything. It hasn't helped me anyways. As far as the other goes, I don't mind what you do with your shop, and if I were you, I wouldn't worry about mine either. You could be right, and I may take it down at some point, we'll see. I added it for a reason.
@BootifulLabels Does it just not count or does it count like we didn't delivered on time? because that change everything. If it doesn't count we just need to do more sells to have the badge.
Anyway we refuse to make our client pay delivery fee if they live in our city. It cost almost twice the price of our product sometimes. Also we try to do as less carbon as we can that would be crazy to be send by the post office that would go to a far away platform since we can give it to the client by 10min walk (our city is really small).
