In order to get my star seller badge I need to improve dispatch, I generally sell around 20 items per week - 25% of these go overseas and I buy labels from Etsy (just printing them and sellotape them on). The rest are UK sales and I buy stamps, large letter rate £2.10. Can anyone tell me if I should start to buy labels from Etsy - the 4 x 6 format would mean changing my packaging - or is there an alternative. Is it worth buying a label printer?
you can't go any smaller than the 4x6, (it's a tad smaller, but not much) as the barcode wouldn't scan then
It is cheaper to buy etsy labels or Royal mail click and drop, but you can't do a smaller size and have it work for scan as proof of postage, and scan on delivery,
it is a much better option compared to stamps
1. it's cheaper
2. delivery scan
3. the scan at the post office is really quick, all they have to do is scan the barcode, and confirm weight, no address to type in.
a large letter, and under 100gm, second class, is £1.55, with proof of delivery scan
You could buy a label printer. I have a Zebra420d and you can buy second hand ones from Ebay quite reasonably. If you sign up for a Click & Drop business account then all your Etsy orders will be imported there and all the labels are provided free of charge (I then only use Etsy labels for orders over £10). You also get discounted postage rates.
An alternative is that Etsy now provides a QR code that you can take to the Post Office on your phone and they will print the label out for you there.
I think their problem is they are too big to go on their packages
Thank you for your help
