ETSY, if you are listening, 

You need to take into account orders that have no tracking because of local delivery or pick up. I select local delivery or pick up so I can close the order but you ding me every month for having 10 or so orders with no tracking. I would have star seller status every month for years but have never got it once due to that flaw in your site.

How would Etsy know the buyer received their item unless you mail with tracking?

Etsy is an online platform, not a home delivery service!

Did you read the information on star seller?  You would know that Etsy does not allow for hand delivery or local pick up for star seller.

You can choose to do so but you will not get star seller status or any sort of protection should the buyer say they never got the item or the item was damaged.

Hand delivery is not a good business practice unless you self-insure for instances when you may have to refund.
