Star seller status miscalculated

Hi there,

I have technically reached star seller on my account, however it doesn’t seem to take into consideration the last few messages I received which I responded to straight away.

my score is at 91 because one person that I was communicating via instagram with sent me a request for a custom order and instead of replying to her message I just sent the custom order directly.

Anyway since I’ve had about 13 messages that were replied to immediately and still the data shows 91%. I know it can take a while for it to update, so will it maybe show them by tomorrow? There was two new customer messages yesterday.

Re: Star seller status miscalculated

For each one you reply to late you need 19 replied on time in order to stay at 95% or better.  If you only had 14 messages and one of those was not replied to within the 24hr requirement,  you will not achieve Star Seller this month.  13 out of 14 is only 93%.

Re: Star seller status miscalculated

I've replied to every message within minutes but one message is showing a late response - however the sender and I had already completed our messaging with her last one sent. Am I supposed to keep responding on my end? This seems to make the other person feel they need to respond again creating a vicious loop. I can't find a link to ask Etsy support.

@JellyandJemima you only need to respond to the first new message in a thread within the 24 hours. You don't have to have the last word.

Re: Star seller status miscalculated

@SewSchnuffel: How was "Star seller status miscalculated" ? The Star Seller metric for messages is very simplistic and binary - either you replied to (or marked as SPAM) that first message of a new incoming thread within 24 hours or you did not.

"Anyway since I’ve had about 13 messages ..." Remember that the Star Seller metric is NOT all new messages but only the first message of all new incoming threads. The first message of a new incoming thread is not counted until after the 24 hour reply window has passed regardless of when you actually replied and Star Seller stats seem to be updated only once per day.

I also feel like sending a private listing in response to a request for one should count as a response, but that’s just me

Re: Star seller status miscalculated

Is Etsy still not counting activity during the last few days of the month?

Re: Star seller status miscalculated

yes.

"Messages sent on the last two days of the 3-month review period may be excluded from the current review period and counted towards the next period instead. This is to allow Sellers a full 24 hours to respond and not be penalised for messages received late on the final day of the review period."
