I lost my Star Status streak this month because etsy's brain central perceived that I'd failed to send tracking numbers for two orders. I would like to try to set the record straight if I possibly can present my case: I think the relevant orders were from a repeat customer who two times placed orders for 2 items. To save her shipping costs, I combined the 2 items each time into one package, which resulted in ONE tracking number for each of 2 packages. I sent the buyer tracking numbers each time with the completed order notification. I guess I should have figured out how customers can combine multiple orders for shipping, but that seems complicated. Alternatively I suppose I should've entered tracking numbers separately for each item ordered? Can I get clarification? And can I appeal the current Star Status? (I realize this may seem totally unclear what I am saying but u did my best.)
This is a peer to peer seller forum, we can't actually do anything.
when you mark the item complete, you have to enter the tracking number, in the tracking number field
Etsy says they will not change star seller metrics
you could always try logging a ticket, but don't hold your breath
Yes, you must enter the tracking numbers manually if you combined orders.

you need to enter tracking for each order.
if you do not... etsy will think you did not ship that order with tracking.

This cannot be done unless you cancel each order and ask the customer to put in another, combined order. The better option is to add the same tracking number for each order.
Sorry @nineteen27 , usually I'm better at nesting. This wasn't a reaction to your comment.
@AlchemyDiner : Depending on when you shipped the orders, you may still be able to add / edit the shipping data. When combining multiple orders into a single shipment you need to make sure that EACH order is marked as complete and that each order contains the appropriate shipped date, tracking number and shipping company. Double check each actual order to make sure that they are correct.
Wondering...can't you simply add the tracking NOW? I always add it when I ship for combined orders, but can't it still be added?
You have 3 days
Once you complete an order and add tracking information manually, you have three days to make changes to the tracking number or delivery company.
Ohhh...Okay. I've never waited but a few minutes to add it so I didn't know. Thank you!
Here is one idea: Get one of the shipping labels and change the values for a very low weight and size. Then ship it with a gift for your customer. The other shipping label with the actual items, adjust the weight and size for the 2 products, and the leftover value from the small package, use it for the final price of the second package plus some refund for your customer. I hope this could help you.
A lot of unnecessary fuss and bother.
Marking the second order as shipped and entering the tracking number manually at the time of shipping is all that is needed.
Entering anything in the tracking field at a later stage will only make the system think the item was shipped late --and so still not be correct for Star seller metrics
