Star seller - missing tracking info

Hi there,
I got an issue with the star seller break down, it shows me that I had a few orders without tracking info, which isn't true. No order goes out without tracking number and I put in the number as soon as I hit the complete button. So this technical issue can cost me the Star seller status.
Please help.

How soon do you check after shipping?  Sometimes a wait of 24 hours can help to bring the item into transit.

If your items are saying pre-transit only then that is something else.  Your items have to be in transit which means your postal system has accepted the package.  If it is showing in transit, then contact Etsy with the information.

Sometimes Etsy cannot read the tracking from some of the international services.

Sorry for the late reply here. Unfortunately nothing has changed so far. I downloaded the report and checked each order which was marked without tracking and each time I saw a tracking number. It is super annoying, since I use the same national postal service (la poste France) for all my shippings and most shippings are fine. Still it messed up my stats and I'm not a star seller anymore since a few months just because of this.

@AyrTan - There have been other threads where it has been mentioned that Etsy & Mondial Relay do not communicate well. So if this is the service you use for shipping, it may be the cause of the problem. To correct your Shop's stats you will have to contact Etsy

Having the correct policies is becoming more important on the Etsy Marketplace & might offer you some Seller Protection if you ever need it.

The same techical issue has cost me my Star seller status. Even though I always, always ship on time and with tracking, every single order  is viewed as order without tracking  by Etsy. That has been going on for a couple of months now but nobody cares.

Is it possible that the shipping company you use doesn't integrate with Etsy? If Etsy cannot verify that the tracking number is valid, they will consider the item untracked.

I don't use a postal system which is integrated with Etsy and I've not had this issue. And I seldom use Etsy labels.  I always enter tracking unless I'm hand delivering a local purchase.  My tracking numbers have always been accepted and calculated by Etsy.  So it doesn't seem that this issue is due to using a postal system that isn't integrated.

I guess "integrated" isn't the correct word.

It's more like Etsy can't connect with that carrier to check the numbers.

I'm using lettertrackpro for some of my shipments, which generates a bar code like Pitney Bowes does. And the letters do actually show tracking unlike Pitney Bowes, which no longer updates.
Anyway, even when I put that tracking number into Etsy, it shows that I've sent an untracked shipment. Etsy customer service said that Etsy doesn't have the capability to connect with that service. So they will not recognize that tracking number as valid. I think others have mentioned the same thing about other carriers (possibly Royal Mail and Mondial Relay, mentioned above.)

Etsy doesn't care about anything that can't come down on them.  I've had several problems and the closest thing I ever got to help was them transferring me to different people every time so I got to hear the same unhelpful crap that didn't answer any questions from 5 or 6 people before they just quit responding.

I will likely never get a star seller because I have a lot of international sales and Global Postal shipping always screws me.  Every order that ships with global gets whacked as not having tracking info.  Why?  Because global postal sucks.  I wish I could exclude it from my shipping options.

Star Seller is only for those using tracking with carriers that Etsy is able to connect to. Therefore the Star Seller badge is meaningless as it does not reward sellers who match all the criteria, but just sellers who ship with the "right" carriers. I had the badge since the beginning, but no longer (and possibly never will again) since Etsy's no longer able to connect to the Mondial Relay tracking and I'm not about to pay vast amounts of money to another more expensive carrier.
