Good day,
I just looked at my star seller ratings progress for December and noted that one of my messages are listed as not replied to in 24hrs. I always reply very quickly, so I knew this could not be right.
I went through my messages and found the issue. I started a message thread with a customer to receive approval for a design. They replied to that message, but then also started a new thread with the same response as they weren't sure that the other message worked. I only saw that after already replying to their other message and didn't bother replying to that.
I thought these multiple threads were supposed to be joined now?
Can you please correct my message response rate.
Thank you
Werner
Did you mark the other one as spam?
@YourLifePersonalised: This is a seller peer to peer forum, and should not be considered a way to contact Etsy, if that is your hope (although Etsy does sometimes read and reply to posts). Most messages are appended to an existing thread. Perhaps the customer used a Help Request to contact you. That ALWAYS starts a new thread. Etsy is now putting a blue text warning / advisory on those messages they consider to be a "new message" but should semantically be called a "new thread".
At least for the time being, it appears that marking an unanswered message as SPAM (even after the 24 hour deadline has passed) will cause your reply percentage to change in a day or two if the original message was within the current star seller period. But be aware that doing so may cause other messages from that account to do directly to the spam folder.
Mark it as spam or reply.
Exact same thing happened to me this month. It’s a continuous frustration with Etsy.
"...didn't bother replying to that." You have to bother to reply to each and every one.
