Potential customer sent me message approx. 5 hours ago i sent reply, but the window with:,,A potential buyer is reaching out for the first time. Send a reply within 24 hours to show them your shop delivers top-notch service.,, keep showing up.
Even after i responded on message green window popped up saying.. great, that you answered on time...etc.
After that, the blue window appeared again with the message that it is necessary to respond within 24 hours, as if I had not responded at all.
This is not the first time, a couple of days ago, even after several correspondences with the buyer, the blue window kept popping up, and only after about 5 messages with the buyer, the green window finally popped up permanently.
Anyone else has this same problem?
Must be fixed!
Yes, many have had this problem. It has been going on for at least a week. Knock on wood, my one from 2 days ago has not affected my Star Seller.
Yes it’s happening to me and it lowered my rating. I spoke with someone via chat and I was told that they are testing that chat feature again.
Still happening in my shop as well.
Yes, same here. My response to a customer a couple of days ago. Sorry, I have to write an answer to you, Etsy seems to think I haven't done that yet, in our 5 convos back and forth, no reply needed!
Really wish they would get their act together.
Having to send numerous messages to buyers just to keep etsy happy will drive buyers away. They don't want or need that nonsense. Neither do sellers. smh
And to me too today. I answered the initial question almost at once and there have been several conversation messages since. And every time the banner appears telling me to reach out.
It's disappointing that there seems to be no way of contacting the technical department directly.
Yes, has happened to me as well. The blue banner wouldn't go away even after multiple back and forth messages. I contacted Etsy through chat who said it was a bug and that it would not count against me. (Though I'm not confident it won't when the next Star Seller period rolls around).
I came here to ask this exact same question because I have the same issue as you do. I was stressing over my response rate which is way lower than I thought it should be, so I think this mystery is solved? How can we fix this or at least get an answer from Etsy?
I am currently having this issue as well, and have been for a week or two. It's not with all messages, just some.
Yes, I've had this same thing happen, I've no answer though... Guess I just wont be a star seller this month.
@TopShelfMiniFigs: "Guess I just wont be a star seller this month." The applicable CSV file from your Star Seller page will answer this for you.
Based on the numerous threads about this, the new message banner not going away appears to be only a user interface glitch which is not affecting any stats such as Star Seller. There have, however, been reports about other Message issues that are impacting a shop negatively.
Yes. It just happened to me.
I lost my star seller for the first time last round bc of my response rate which I thought was perfect. When I looked one message from the same buyer came through twice and I responded back to them. But Etsy counted it as two messages and that dropped me to an 88% rating and lost star seller. They say it doesn’t impact your visablity overall but my sales have tanked even though I pay for Etsy marketing. Now today I am get the same message as everyone here over and over about at first time buyer response no matter how many times I respond. They might say it won’t count against us but my stats say I am at 80% when I have responded 100%. I wouldn’t care except I think their “reward” program does impact sales and stresses their sellers sometimes more than it helps
