Star seller message response rate

I had 3 messages in 3 months - 2 were from the same person and I neglected to reply to one of them because we sorted the problem on the other message. Because I only had 3 messages this caused my message response rate to drop to 67% and consequently not get star seller status. I have tried to ask for this to be manually overridden but with no joy through the chat help line.

Does anyone know if I can do anything to appeal this?

No, there is nothing to be done.  You need to answer EVERY new message or mark them as spam to satisfy Star Seller requirements.  It doesn't matter who the message is from, whether it is regarding a sale or a purchase you have made, or if it was a duplicated message.  You can send the unanswered one to spam and it MAY correct itself (no guarantees) in time for May badge, but it is probably too late for this month.

@LouisePetPhotoCards: "I had 3 messages in 3 months" Presumably you mean three new threads - unfortunately the Star Seller metric for messages is very simplistic and binary - either you replied to (or marked as SPAM) that first message of a new incoming thread within 24 hours or you did not.

As it says right on your Star Seller page and elsewhere, you need to reply to the FIRST message of EVERY NEW INCOMING THREAD within 24 hours. It does not matter who sent it, the subject matter, if it is a duplicate or blank or anything else. If it is SPAM then it should be marked as such. Remember that the Star Seller metric is NOT all new messages but only the first message of all new incoming threads.
