I received a SPAM email that I didn't respond to which brought my stats down so I didn't make star seller. That's totally unacceptable.
You have to reply to all message or mark them as spam. You can still mark it as spam and your numbers should go back up in a day or so. This is how the program has always worked.
Steps to take:
1. Send the message to spam. Your stats will update in a day or two.
2. read the Star Seller program information. Whether right or wrong, the program has worked this way for nearly a year! Information about message ratings is clear and easily accessible.
3. Visit the forums once in a while. There are daily posts on this same topic.
Look, I’m no fan of this program, but by now no one should be surprised about the way it works.

I read everything I could find on this but didn't see that thank you!!
There is much more information on your Star Seller page than just the stats. All you have to do is scroll down and read. Etsy is pretty clear about the requirements and how to meet them.
If it was a spam message why didn't you mark it as such?
