Star seller incorrect shipping information

All of my orders are shipped with Australia Post with a tracking number. Etsy is saying a few of my orders are shipped with Fedex and this is incorrect. This results in my shop losing points to become a star seller.

In cases like this, it is possible that the tracking number entered may not be the tracking number, or a slight error may have been made in entering the number. Please check that the carrier and the tracking number match. If the carrier and tracking numbers do not match, this will count as an invalid tracking number. You can also check our help center article explaining how to add or edit a tracking number.

 

While the on-time shipping metric won’t recognize tracking added after the shipping date, remember that orders older than three months will not count toward Star Seller metrics.

I also use Australia Post.
When marking an order complete, I have found that the system occasionally changes the carrier from Australia Post to something else while I am typing in the tracking number. I missed it the first couple of times and then had to edit the completed order to change it back.
Now I am extra careful and I follow these steps:
1. Do not mark an order complete until you have been to the post office and the article has been scanned.
2. When marking the order complete, double check that the carrier still shows Australia Post AFTER entering the full tracking number.
3. Go to completed orders. If your order shows In transit all is good. If it shows Pre-transit open the order & check that the carrier is correct. Edit & fix if necessary. Now click on the tracking number to make sure it links you through to Australia Post tracking.
Note: Sometimes the tracking info is not in the AusPost system yet, even though it was already scanned at your local post office. In that case wait a couple of hours and check again to make sure it has gone to In transit.

you choose the shipper when you mark as complete.

or do you use etsy labels, if you use etsy labels, you need to contact etsy about the discrepancy

@SpellByDaisy  :  Make sure that the shipped date, tracking number and shipping company show correctly on the actual order. Depending on when you marked the order as completed you may be able to edit the tracking information.

I'm so sorry this happened. Were shipping profiles used?  If so, I'd double check these to make sure all information is matching how the item is being sent out.  It is not necessary to use Etsy's shipping labels.  I seldom use them due to the financial fiascos attached to them in the past.  But it is absolutely necessary to have accurate documented information as this assists with transparency.  This may not be an issue but it's a good place to start with troubleshooting.  It can help to double check tracking numbers.  Sometimes shipping companies will add additional numbers to a confirmation of shipment order which can make it confusing.  Human error can obviously be a problem.  I know I've made a mistake in the past which I was certain I didn't do.  I did.  And a data entry mistake may have been made by the carrier too.  It can happen to anyone.  So double checking this can assist too. If all of these numbers have been found to be correct, it will be necessary to contact Etsy with documented proof that there is an issue which is out of your control and within their system.   I hope this issue is resolved for you soon.
