Star seller if you’re a buyer too

I always respond to messages from buyers very quickly, so wondered why I was suddenly at 60% response. I got 2 back to back messages from a shop that I made a purchase from, announcing new products. Apparently Etsy hasn’t bothered to differentiate between a buyers inquiry and a sellers promotional message. Apparently I’m supposed to respond to the promotional message. 
And setting up auto response seems to defeat the purpose of these silly little stars. If you can delay a response, you aren’t providing an actual quick response. SHEESH

Mark the promo messages as spam, as you should do anyway as sellers aren't allowed to send them. This will bring your score back up in around 24hrs.

And yes, ALL messages are counted no matter who they are from. On Etsy you can be a buyer and a seller from the same account so Etsy has no way of knowing what the context of the message is, just that a first message was sent from person A to person B.
