I was so very happy to receive that little Star for the first time for February. Now it seems to be endangered because I had one byer picking up her parcel personally and taking one item extra which cost the same as what she had paid for shipping. I marked it as shipped, but without tracking obviously. Today my 100% have been reduced to 88%, which is really unfair
I feel the shipping Option "Pick up locally" is overdue.
Very disappointed
I am sorry you had to learn the hard way that things like that will disqualify you for SS. You may want to click the Star Seller link on your dashboard and review the terms. But including tracking for every order is required to be SS.
@GroundZeroCreations Not every order, just orders over a certain amount. It is £10 in the UK but I'm not sure what it is in Euros.
It's €10.
You have 3 days to enter a tracking number so can you buy the cheapest trackable label and enter the tracking number? I know in the US it doesn't cost much to do that but maybe it does in Germany. If it was more than 3 days ago then you will be too late.
@JJewellerySuppliesUK In the US, there is not exemption based on order total for required shipping. Etsy policy states: "Adding tracking to all physical orders is one of the criteria for Star Seller if you’re in the US. If you mark an order as complete without adding tracking, it does not meet the requirement for Star Seller."
So it sounds like you are saying that in the UK you are not required to use tracking on orders under a certain value. Is that correct?
@GroundZeroCreations Yes that's correct, the same for other countries (except the US it seems so no wonder you didn't know).
The countries and thresholds are in this article if you click on "On time dispatch and tracking"
How to Become a Star Seller – Etsy
Not likely to happen. How do you think Etsy would be able to verify a local pickup (especially considering the entire process of SS data gathering is automated)? Any seller could tick a box that says local pickup, how is Etsy to know the buyer really got their item? The filter program only looks at the ship by date, the tracking number, and the lodgement date to ensure the seller shipped on time and tracked. Unless and until Etsy changes the rules to include local delivery/pickup (and I don't see that happening, since as I said above there is no evidence of receipt with local delivery/pickup) you need to decide what is more important to you, happy customers, or a little purple badge that really means very little.
I had a buyer recently pick up their order, as they lived in a neighbouring town, I knew I would lose my star seller this month because of that one order taking me below the % threshold because I could not add tracking (it was an item over £10), that was my choice to make. If you or anyone is bothered about losing SSP because of local pick-ups and not being able to add a tracking number, the answer is simple, do not allow pick-ups.
