HI,
I'm trying to get star seller status for my shop, but it seems Etsy has incorrectly reviewed my message response rate, and I got dinged for something that I shouldn't have been dinged on. I have one message that I didn't reply to. It was a message sent to me from another seller as a thank you for purchasing one of her mock ups, and it was a discount code. I had actually intended to reply to it, but just forgot to. Regardless, I didn't think it mattered if I replied to it or not because it was not from a customer, and has nothing to do with any orders or any of my current listings. Is there anyone to get this removed? If I reply to it, will it improve my response rate even though its been more than 24 hours?
Thank you!
There have been thousands of other posts in Forums just like yours. The rating is not incorrect. EVERY initial message must be replied to or marked as spam. Read the rules on your Star Seller Dashboard. It's explained there. You can try marking it as spam now. I don't know if that will fix the rating.
great. thanks
@Shirtsthatspeak Read the instructions on your Star seller dashboard.
Got it. Thanks so much.
The star seller criteria is very clear about messages. There should be no confusion.
yeppers! Thanks so much for the reply.
Etsy didn’t make the mistake here. Whether right or wrong, the program has worked this way for nearly a year!
@Shirtsthatspeak if the message is in the current rating period, mark it as spam. It should work retroactively.
I thought about doing that, but wouldn’t it flag the person who sent it? I would feel bad marking it as spam when it wasn’t really spam.
No, the person that sent the message will not know you marked it as spam.
We appreciate your feedback, and since OP's question is not a technical issue, and in any case has already been answered, I'll go ahead and close this thread to prevent it from going off-topic.
Thank you!
