Star Seller qualification - missed message as a buyer

I purchased an item in June. The seller sent me a message just with a after sale comment that didn’t need a reply.

My star seller message stat is counting this message when I was a buyer against my seller star rating.

Is it supposed to do that?

Yes, all messages are counted. I believe this is corrected if you mark that message as a buyer as spam

Your message response rate is based on just the first message in a conversation, not ongoing conversations. This means you just need to respond to the first message within 24 hours. This applies to messages both from buyer and seller accounts. Messages from Etsy staff do not count toward your response rate, and neither do messages that you mark as spam. You can also now find a breakdown of your message response rate score by downloading a CSV.

Did you get the message in June?  If so, it's a moot point.  We are now working on July, August and September.

Yes, the June stats won't affect the October Badge. They still count for the September Badge (Stats from June, July, August).

But I guess you were referring to the "mark as spam" advice!?
