Star Seller: orders on 2/29 not count towards 3 month $300 minimum?

Has anyone else found that their orders on 2/29/2024 did not get counted in their Star Seller stats?

Love that they basically offer no support and won't fix the problem when their calculation is wrong.  Checking my order history I clearly have the sales minimum met.

Yes, it's always been like that. They cut off early.

What time on the 29th Feb?

Star Seller stats are in UTC time. What was Feb 29th to you, may have already been March 1st in UTC.

Just google "etsy star seller not counting last day of month" and you'll see numerous posts about it.

Here's the actual statement on it:

https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403058372503-How-to-Become-a-Star-Seller?segment=selling

"Messages sent on the last two days of the 3-month review period may be excluded from the current review period and counted towards the next period instead. This is to allow Sellers a full 24 hours to respond and not be penalized for messages received late on the final day of the review period"

That's about messages, but I believe they've said somewhere it refers to everything. The last 2 days of the month don't count.

They do for reviews, and orders & sales amount, as long as they happen with the time frame in UTC.

Don't know if it applies to the order volume / quantity metric, but there have been posts by Etsy Admins that an order might not be counted for tracking et cetera until after their scheduled ship by date regardless of when they were actually marked complete.

We know they don't count messages and shipping, shipments are only counted based on the ship-by date.

Honestly I don't think they distinguish which metric it's counting towards. I think they just turn off all star seller stats they're monitoring a day or two before the month ends.

The last few days never counted, because Etsy cannot determine if you would actually respond to messages within 24 hours or ship in time so they will count on the next month.

@GieseDeseiGns   They do count but not for the next month but the month following.  So Feb 29 does not count for March but it will count for April.

Yes, I had it happen 2x in my other shop, order on last day of month not counting towards the star seller stats for the month change over the next day.

do those last day or two of the month activities count toward the NEXT ss period? or do they just disappear forever.

If they just disappear, I hope any 4-star reviews come in on the last day of the month.

Yes, they claim they are counted in the next review period.

Though I don't have any personal experience to confirm this.

What I noticed was that they were added onto the next month's CSV.

The last couple of days of a month are always fluid according to Etsy's calendar.    Particularly annoying when you're trying to reconcile year to year and one order ended up on the following year.   Learned that the hard way.

Add in a Leap Day and some server in charge of the calendar at Etsy HQ probably melted.   :  )
