I faithfully respond to customer messages. In the last year I have not once rated 95% or more in this category. I downloaded and checked this months stats and 2 out of the 3 messages that I supposedly did not respond to clearly DO have a timely response. Am I missing something? It is just SOOOO annoying to put heart and soul into this and keep seeing..."Not there yet!"...when I have nearly a thousand 5 star reviews and actually message every single customer as soon as they order to follow up.

We've double-checked the messages affecting your Star Seller, and here's what we found out: one message receive a response after several days, one message was from another seller which also receive a response after several days, and lastly, the buyer of the last message sent you multiple messages via multiple message thread. However, only one message thread received a response.
Kindly know that messages from the same buyer will now be consolidated into fewer threads. However, when a buyer reaches out via the Help With Order request, a new thread will be created which needs a response separately. These types of message threads need to be responded to in 24 hours to be counted positively toward your Star Seller score. New threads will now have notification badges showing if a message is a buyer’s first time contacting you, or a new help with an order request.

Additionally, the Message response rate counts initial messages in new threads from all Etsy members, both buyers and other sellers. You may want to create a Saved Reply in order to quickly and easily answer messages from other Sellers. Using a Saved Reply within 24 hours will count as answering the message. If the message you've received is not a spam message, it requires a response within 24 hours. If it is a spam message you can mark it as such and it won't count towards your score. Marking a message as spam will remove it from your inbox.
