I had an order placed on August 29th by a customer. I filled this order on August 31st via Pirate Ship for my shipping with plans to drop it off on September 1st (which I did and it was delivered on September 2nd). But because I created a label on August 31st that hadn't been scanned by the time the star seller criteria was run on September 1st, I lost my on time shipping badge and thus my star seller status.
Contacted Etsy today, and the lady said she couldn't do anything about it. But "keep up the good work, and I'll earn that On Time Shipping Badge in no time!" My frustration is- there is no reason I should have lost the badge. If I had slacked on the order, and not filled in August 31st, then I wouldn't have been dinged. But because I created a label that wasn't scanned at the post office, even though that order was no where near late, lost my star seller for the month.
How do I get this fixed if the support person at Etsy can't do anything about it, and sent me to this forum?
"the support person at Etsy can't do anything about it, and sent me to this forum?"
Yup. They sent you here so we can all tell you there is nothing you can do.
Etsy has specifically said they will not retro-actively award the Star or adjust the metrics. It's all automatic, run by bots.
Better luck next time.
The last day or two of the month are a bit of a black hole for SS, mainly because it can take a day or so for tracking to catch up on Etsy and they don't want to penalise people unnecessarily. If your ship by date is in the last couple of days of the current month, you may want to push out the shipping so that the tracking has time to catch up. This means the order won't count for the current month, but for the next, even if you ship early. If you can use Etsy labels, I believe this counts as proof of shipping even if the parcel isn't scanned at the PO on time.
@ChayasJewelry If you purchase the labels on Pirate Ship, do not purchase until the day you intend to ship. Though Pirate Ship allows you to change the ship date, Etsy doesn’t recognize it and considers the label purchase date to be the ship date. It’s something I’ve experienced as well…but I was lucky enough to discover it before star seller kicked in. I can’t imagine how frustrated you must be, especially with Etsy’s zero tolerance and robotic help desk.
