I understand that it may take 24 hours for sales to show. However I was under the impression that all sales made through March 31st would count towards that period.  Sales made on March 31st are counting for April. This made me miss the badge this period. Will it update or is there a way for it be accurately reflected?

It depends on what time the order came in. Star seller bits are on the UTC time zone so if the order came in later in the day it would likely be the 1st in UTC time zone.
