We are judged on performance for the prior three months. So for March, Star Seller status is based on performance from December 1 thru February 28. However, only message data through February 25th is calculated.
Why are the last three days of the month not included? This would have been the extra push I needed for Star Seller status in March.
because of time differences, and things like waiting for 24 hours etc,
the last few days of a month, are counted in the following month,
so they are all counted, just offset by a few days
it's swings and roundabouts, for March star seller, the last few days of Nov were counted

To add, Etsy runs on UTC time for the financial part and for stats that are longer than a day or a week.
It's absolutely ridiculous and arbitrary on Etsy's part. Star Seller needs to end, especially because they can't keep up with consistent criteria requirements like this.
It's not arbitray or ridiculous. This was noted in the star seller criteria. Just many missed when reading the information on the program.
Etsy is global and even large corporations take time each month to update their programs within their companies. I've experienced this in my other work life.
Well--if someone contacts you on FEb 28th at say 11PM , you have 24 hours to respond so your response is not needed until the following day/month. They probably throw an extra day at it to help with time zones, etc. I am sure it is the same with the shipping. Reviews should be pretty straightforward.
Help Center article about Star Seller explains why here

If you click to expand the info about message response rate it says "Messages sent on the last two days of the 3-month review period may be excluded from the current review period and counted towards the next period instead. This is to allow Sellers a full 24 hours to respond and not be penalized for messages received late on the final day of the review period"
Note that "the last two days..." bit can actually be 3 days due to time zone issues as mentioned above.
The main reason for this is to be fair to all.
It can take 1-2 days for tracking updates to register.
For the message metric, messages must be answered within 24hrs so Etsy needs to allow at least this much time for responses to be considered.
If they marked sellers down for a non-response to message received on the last day of the month I imagine there would be a hue and cry in the forums because they were penalised before the allowed 24 hrs was up. Likewise they need to allow time for tracking through third party shippers to update to Etsy.
