I was notified that I would be losing my star status for the month of May. I checked the two orders that were sited as being late and not having tracking information. One of the orders was immediately canceled as a courtesy to someone who said they didn't realize until they clicked BUY that the piece would be way too big for their wife. So I kindly canceled the order. The other order was from a customer who purchased two things from my shop so I included them both in the same box! Obviously there wouldn't be tracking information for the second item. These are technical issues which I feel are unfair criteria for calculating my standing as a star seller.
The first order, did you actually cancel? Or did you just refund? Refunding doesn't automatically cancel the order, but cancelling automatically refunds. Cancelled orders would not be held against you.
The second order, you could have copy and pasted the same tracking number from the one shipment to both orders. I've combined plenty of orders into one box before and never had that issue.
So unfortunately these are not actually technical issues (at least the second one for sure), but sound like mistakes made on your end. It may hurt now, but good that you've learned and will know what to do next time it happens.
"Obviously there wouldn't be tracking information for the second item. "
Sure there would. The tracking number would be the same as the tracking number for the other order if you combined them into one package. You just copy and paste the tracking number into the tracking info bit on the second order when you mark it completed. That's not a technical issue it's a you failed to enter the tracking info issue.
Was the first order actually canceled, or just refunded? If not canceled, it will show as still pending.
For the second situation, you need to have entered the same tracking number for the second order.
