Last week we were late responding to one message. We've only had two messages in this current review period. That took us down to 50%. Since then, I've had 3 more messages. All of which have been answered within minutes. However, my Message response rate for the current period, December progress, is still sitting at 50% and still only shows that I've answered the original two messages. When I download the CSV, it shows the same. Please help, or explain why those are not being counted.
In many cases, messages from the last few days before the end of the month aren't counted.
It's a known issue that Etsy doesn't know how to / doesn't want to / doesn't care to fix.
@PlatypusDream - yep, and neither are sales on the last day of a month. I lost my star this month after having it for 11 months straight because I hit the $300 on the last day of October. Sucks. I will have it back for Dec, and I truly don't care, but it was rather annoying since that sale shows as Oct 31 : (
@timelapse: Orders are assigned to the month that they are scheduled to ship by NOT the month they were placed or shipped.
@BagmakerSupply - I realize that, unfortunately...TY.
The whole program is a mess, so not really bothered either way.
I haven't changed anything in how I have run my shop for over 12 years...customer service has always been my top priority.
Etsy, however, in all wisdom, still shows it as an October sale....just depends on what finance/statistic you look at.
stats aren't immediate, it may update tomorrow
@kcvintage816: Presuming that the messages you mentioned were all the first message of a NEW thread, they are not counted until after the 24 hour reply window has passed regardless of when you replied. Then there is an update delay. Also month end is calculated in UTC not in your time zone.
For SS messages are only counted once the 24 has window is passed. This means messages received on the last day of the month may not be included in that months calculations because the time to answer is not yet exhausted. Likewise, orders received at the end of a month may not be included depending on the processing time, because they can't determine on time shipping or see tracking if your processing time hasn't ended yet. Those orders will count for next month's badge.
Answering 4 out of 5 messages on time will still not allow for the badge -- that's 80%.
Yes I understand we still won’t meet the criteria but I still want to know why they aren’t being calculated. They all happened well over 24 hours ago. They were all first messages in new threads. But still no update.
It might just remain a mystery, unfortunately. Right now, I have two on-time-with-valid-tracking orders being counted against me in my other shop. It doesn't make any sense at all, they're not even my most recent orders there. But I don't think we'd get a very satisfying answer if we asked why.
This is very frustrating. I have never missed responding to a message on time. I ship via USPS. For Veteran's Day, I updated my shipping dates to go the following business day due to the Post Office being closed. One of my customers responded "Thank you" to my update message. Since he was responding to me, I didn't think it needed a response. Well, it counted against me and now I will lose my Star Seller badge for December. Etsy needs to fix this!
If the response from the buyer was in the same message thread, it would not require a response from you. But if the buyer started a new thread to respond it does. All new messages should have a blue warning notice to say it requires a response.
My Stats say 94% and show 54 messages and I missed 3 in the 24 hour window. But when I download the CSV is shows 55 message with 3 missed in the 24 hours time frame. The CSV only goes to 11/26 so it that the cut off? Does anyone know? thank you
@jennifersopinion: New threads are not counted for Star Seller until after the 24 hour reply window has passed and there is often a delay of a day or two before the CSV and stats are updated.
