So ridiculous!! I jump through hoops to keep my star seller status. Etsy asked for my driver's license back in October and I complied immediately! I thought everything was fine...until yesterday, when my whole shop was put on "vacation" because they couldn't verify my driver's license. Finally, after emailing and uploading everything again, my shop is now back live, but all of my star seller badges are gone, because my shop had been "suspended". Total BS!! I have been selling on Etsy for almost 20 years! Since 2005 and have maintained perfect stats, always paid my bill on time, never got into a pissing contest with anyone, or had any issues until this crap. Totally uncalled for and I am so upset about it. I can't believe Etsy would treat any of their sellers this way. I'm fuming!
So sorry! I would write to Etsy asking for them to be reinstated.
This is day 7 and my shop is still out on vacation mode due to the same issue.
They will be back shortly. Be glad you got your shop back. Many have been waiting weeks, even months.
Ridiculous!
star seller is back now.
It's back, but I still feel like I've gone through hell for no reason! This whole thing was so unnecessary! I mean, all they had to do was ask me for what they needed, instead of shutting my shop down and making me jump through hoops over something that was their own fault!!! I wish I could go back to the two guys with the laptop in the coffee shop when I first signed up. All of that is lost now
I think the big question is - why is Etsy putting shops into vacation mode at the same time they request the verification?
According to their own documented procedures, in this article:
https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-gb/articles/14553858116759-Etsy-Asked-Me-to-Confirm-My-Seller-Info?segme...
A shop may be put into vacation mode if they have not met the deadline for confirming their seller info.
Etsy is notifying some sellers that they must provide and confirm additional info about their business in their Shop Manager.
If this applies to you, we’ll email you from mail@etsy.com and post alerts in your Shop Manager Dashboard.
If notified, you’ll be given a deadline to provide and confirm your seller info. The deadline is a legal mandate that depends on what laws apply to your shop.
If you don’t confirm your seller info by the deadline emailed to you and displayed in your Shop Manager Dashboard, you won’t be able to receive funds from your sales and Etsy may need to place your shop on pause via Etsy-initiated vacation mode. You won’t be able to exit vacation mode until you take the required actions.
Yep, this is what is happening to me and they could care less that my family needs this money. I have emailed and sent messages. They said 2-5 days for review. I’m on day 7.
I find it so sad that the forum seems to be nothing but "Etsy stuck a knife in my back." threads.
I really wish that they would get their act together and do their job properly. That really doesn't seem to be too much to ask, does it?
The best advice I can offer is NOT to take this so personal. Etsy is very impersonal. They don’t look at your years here or your standing, etc. It’s like they throw stuff at the wall and some things stick, some doesn’t. It just feels like they are very short staffed. This is nothing about you.
