Good afternoon,
The Star Seller calculates very inaccurate. I have always responded to customers messages, however I was downgraded because of spam mail and not responding as I wasn’t aware. I responded to a customers message and multiple email trails that they have when they send direct messages, and for some reason I have been dinged because I didn’t end the message after it was already ended. There is a glitch that needs addressing. If you look at my stats, you will see that it doesn’t make any sense as to why my numbers are low. It’s extremely disheartening as everything on the platform is driven by stats, yet the customer service representatives really can’t fixed anything…….after multiple calls trying to understand the system.
@BodyandSoulHub: Unfortunately as it says right on your Star Seller page and elsewhere, you need to reply to (or mark as SPAM) the FIRST message of EVERY NEW INCOMING THREAD within 24 hours. It does not matter who sent it, the subject matter, if it is a duplicate or blank or anything else.
Have you checked the applicable CSV file available on your Customer Service Stats page to see which new Message threads Etsy thinks were unanswered or answered late? When you look at the file remember that that the dates / times are in UTC (not your time zone), only the first message of a new incoming thread is included (all that counts for Star Seller), and usually a new incoming thread is not included until after the 24 hour reply window has passed regardless of when you replied. Star Seller stats (and the CSV file) are updated only once per day so there may be an additional day's delay. There is also a link to the actual message thread so you can verify if the data is correct or not.
"... because I didn’t end the message after it was already ended." Keep in mind that the Star Seller metric is NOT all new messages but only the first message of all new incoming threads.
If you look at the scv files, etsy shows you exactly which ones were not answered, or answered late
If a person opens more than 1 thread, you have to reply to each NEW message thread once
you don't have to have the last word
but if they send you 3 separate message threads, you have to answer all 3,
and if you have a spam message, you have to report it as spam
Did you read the information on star seller. It says that all new messages must be answered. That means answering or spamming the new message. No exceptions.
You don't need the last word.
What you need to do is answer all new messages through answering or spamming to maintain star seller stats.
Set up an auto reply message ... problem solved!
It is the responsibility of the seller to know the rules.
Etsy believes that spammers have feelings too, and should you disrespect them, you will be punished.
