Etsy is saying I've almost met all the criteria to become a Star Seller, but my communication with my customers doesn't seem like it has been taken into account. I've replied to many messages in the last month or two. Can someone look into this, please? Thank you.
First of all, this is a peer to peer forum, we are all just sellers like you, so we can't look into anything, although we can offer suggestions.
As far as your messages go, were all of the messages you are counting new messages initiated by the other party? Only responses to the initial message count.
Also, if you had messages from other sellers about purchases you made eg, those will also need a reply.
If you had messages you consider promotional you can spam those and they won't count, but if you don't spam them they need a response within the designated 24 hr limit.
Lastly, you can download a csv of the messages that make up Etsy's stats. Click the link on the Messages matrix and read the csv to find out where you missed the boat.
@tableofmyheart: "Can someone look into this, please?" As mentioned, even if Etsy Support or the Help Pages sent you here this is a seller peer to peer forum, and should not be considered a way to contact Etsy, if that is your hope (although Etsy does sometimes read and reply to posts).
"I've replied to many messages in the last month or two." Have you checked the applicable CSV file available on your Star Seller page (previous period for September Star)? When you look at the file remember that that the dates / times are in UTC (not your time zone), only the first message of a new incoming thread is included (all that counts for Star Seller), and usually a new incoming thread is not included until after the 24 hour reply window has passed regardless of when you replied. Star Seller stats (and the CSV file) seem to be updated only once per day so there may be an additional day's delay. There is also a link to the actual message thread so you can verify if the data is correct or not. Keep in mind that the Star Seller metric is NOT all new messages but only the first message of all new incoming threads.
