Star Seller Message Response Problem

I have one message showing as not receiving a response. The message is just an icon with no text so has clearly been sent in error since the same person did send a message later and I responded immediately, as usual. If I send it to spam will my message response rate total 100% as it should? This is the only reason I can see that I didn’t get Star Seller rating. Can it be fixed?

It should.

Mark it as spam. A period is enough of an answer to a message from someone, to you. So this is enough of a message to show that you received a message you didn't answer. Since its a bot who just marks messages as not replied to and can't see what is in them.

Mark it as "Spam".  Within 24-48 hours, Etsy will update your Star Seller score.

Even blank messages need to be dealt with.  Either a reply, or sent to spam.

Hi There!

The Star Seller response rate is the percentage of your response within 24 hours to all new messages initiated by other members. This includes messages from other sellers, duplicate messages, blank messages, or messages sent by mistake. 

If a member sends messages through multiple threads, sellers should respond to each thread within 24 hours, directing buyers to the main message thread for discussion. Unwanted messages may be marked as spam.
