Star Seller Issue

Hello, 

I sell digital products on Etsy. I have a confusion about the star seller badge. My friend who sells digital products only has to complete the message response rate and average rating to become a star seller. However, on my Etsy star seller dashboard, there are tasks related to "the number of orders" and "total sales price." I need help with this issue. Is there a setting on Etsy where I need to indicate that I'm selling digital goods? Thanks for your answers.

In order to qualify for any badges, you first have to achieve the minimum order numbers and sales total. Without those you won't get the message badge or review badge.

The information is all on the star seller page in shop manager where it's always been:

"This is the qualification criteria for Star Seller, based on the last three months of your shop data:

• Message response rate:95%+ of first messages in a thread are responded to within 24 hours. This stat is only considered if you receive new messages during the review period.
• On-time dispatch & tracking:95%+ of orders dispatch on time with tracking or with a postage label purchased on Etsy
• Ratings average:Your average rating is 4.8 or higher.
• You must also meet a minimum of 5 orders and 300 USD in sales during the 3-month review period, and you must have been on Etsy’s platform for 90 days since your first sale."

And:

"When it comes to qualifying for Star Seller, digital orders will not require tracking information or postage labels purchased on Etsy. Because of this, shops who list their items as “digital” instead of “physical” will still be eligible for a Star Seller badge since on-time dispatch & tracking will be reviewed on sales of physical items only."

If your items are digital downloads (the item is uploaded to Etsy when the listing is created and every buyer gets access to the same file) then you only need to get the messaging and review criteria, BUT everyone needs to have a minimum number of orders and a minimum $value of sales or they don't get the badge in spite of meeting the appropriate criteria on the top line.
