I have been a star seller since that feature became a thing and I didn't qualify for this month because of USPS.
I had several packages become lost and since they're low priced items, I just send my customers a replacement. Well when I do so, I click 'purchase shipping labels' under the same order, which in turn makes the estimated delivery dates "late".
Star Seller Stats is calculating this as late orders when they're replacement orders due to the originals getting lost in the mail, and now I'm not a star seller anymore...
If I'm just unaware, please let me know, but there needs to be an option on the orders to add a package, keeping the order total to $0 for the customer since it's a replacement, and shipping like a brand new order. Ideally while not counting towards your "Total Orders" stats, it wouldn't penalize you for the Star Seller badge.
@PristinityJewelry: I think that it was adding the tracking number to the order as an additional package that created this issue. On the rare occasions that we had to ship a replacement package we never add it to the order, we just send the buyer a message with the tracking number.
That's obviously not a scenario that is factored in and I would assume it is not something that happens frequently enough to be considered. Now that you know, if you need to replace in future you should ship another way. Of course, it wouldn't be a problem if Etsy didn't have its fingers in our shipping pie but unfortunately they do!
Heard of people permanently losing their star seller for policy violations for things such as copyright infringement (like using celebrities or tv and movie characters without licensing) and even worse can get shut down permanently. Losing a badge for a month is a minor inconvenience when there's bigger risk factors with much bigger consequences to compare to.
Yep.
Better fix that!
Many, many times I've shipped a customer a second package (well after my processing time), by purchasing a second label directly on Etsy from the same original order. I've never had that order then counted as late.
Something else must be amiss.

I don't think that is what the OP is saying though. She didn't say she used the "add a package" option. She said she clicked on "Purchase Shipping Labesl"...
"... I just send my customers a replacement. Well when I do so, I click 'purchase shipping labels' under the same order, which in turn makes the estimated delivery dates "late". ..."
Perhaps the OP can clarify?
I have purchased labels through Etsy by clicking on the 'purchase label' within the order to ship out replacement items, sometimes a month or two after the original due date. As long as there was an original shipment sent on time, it has never been an issue.
I've purchased additional labels through Etsy when I needed to reship something. As long as the first label was created and shipped on time, when the second label was purchased had no bearing on the SS metrics.
I agree with VibeEnvy. Not getting SS this month is the last thing OP should be worried about, and if they get caught with their current listings can lose the ability to ever earn it again.
"there needs to be an option on the orders to add a package"
There is. You can buy/add up to 3 labels for each order right through the order.
I don't know what the talk is about have a $0 order. Sounds like you created a brand new order to send a replacement, or something, I'm really not following what actually happened.
Sounds like OP went about sending the replacements wrong, not an actual issue with the program.
