Hello I find your rating system is off, I have been watching my rating for sometime now and This makes no sense that I get 5 to 10 5 star reviews and you all do not push my rating up to 4.8 to 4.9 but when I get one 3 star you all take a point away, that does not seem fare what so ever.
that's just the way it works.
@RoseBudsDesignGoods: A two or three or four star review hurts the average much more than another five star review helps. On your Star Seller page you can click on the Average Rating card and it will show you the breakdown of your reviews for the current three month Star Seller period and you can double check the math yourself.
That score is calculated as an average. So of course one review that is very low will change the average more significantly.
10 five-star reviews plus one more five-star review is still a score of 5.0
10 five-star reviews plus one one-star review brings the score down to 4.6
You have several 1 and 3-star reviews in March. I didn't go through more recent reviews but those lower reviews will affect your rating.
And, this isn't 'our' star seller rating system, its Etsy's. We're just fellow shop keepers.
It takes a lot of "attaboys" to make up for one "oh SHlT."
The rating is going to be basic math, until you get to the rounding. What you are noticing is probably because Etsy doesn't look at the hundreth spot and therefore always rounds down. For example, if your average is 4.82, then you get a 4.8. But if the average is 4.79, then you get a 4.7.
