I haven't received the Star Seller badge for 3 months now!
Every time it says it's due to my message response rate, this has become super frustrating as I respond to ALL messages quickly not just the first message. When I look at my message stats it says I respond to everything within the 24hr period.
I reached out to support to get some help here. I was told I had ONE message from the November-January period that I'd missed and answered after the 24hr period. I was told it wasn't a penalty or anything which I understand, and that the stats are reviewed over a 3 month period.
However, I do not receive a ton of messages from buyers as my shop just isn't something that requires a ton of communication between the customer and myself. So yes I am being penalized for one message. Not receiving that Seller push from Etsy over one message really does hurt my shop with traffic. PLEASE help us fix this issue and remove the 3 month period, it should be a review of each month!
That will not change, particularly for shops with lower sales. It is intended to show a pattern and history of responsibility. One month is not a history or pattern.
The rules are the same for everyone. Math is math.
You're not being penalized... you're just not meeting the standard.

Keep replying to all first messages, check Spam regularly, and the % will improve.
Off-topic, but important: make sure you don't have anything trademarked in your shop (Harry Potter, Smores, Froot Loops, Jack Skellington and so on).

This is precisely why missing just one message will affect your chances of getting the badge. I am in the same boat, I don't receive a lot of new messages from buyers, I am usually the first to make contact when I send the buyer's draft for approval shortly after the sale. If you have less than 20 NEW messages initiated by the other party, just one late or missed message will cost you the badge.
