Star Sellar statistics error

I have been back and forth with Etsy support and now they have passed me on to this forum.  I am absolutely beyond frustrated and I'm not sure how this forum can help.

Multiple times, Etsy has had my Star Sellar statistics wrong and it has happened once again.  The Star Sellar stats show two orders listed as not having tracking being provided/not shipped on time.  I provided tracking numbers and shipped these orders the SAME DAY that they were ordered.  Again, this has happened before and Etsy has eventually corrected the issue.  This time I am getting no help from Etsy Support.

If we are being are being judged for and advertised as Star Sellar then the Etsy algorithms need to be able to do a better job at determining this. When algorithms that can't do the job correctly and can easily be affecting our sales, then something needs to be done and this Star Sellar program needs to be reviewed and updated. This has happened multiple times now for me already.

Please advise.  Any help is much appreciated!

No. I ship on my own.  If they would simply look at the information under the order they would see that it was shipped on time and tracking was provided when I completed the order.  Their algorithms are an issue.

No one here can adjust your Star metrics - we are only other sellers.

We can only remind you how the program works and encourage you to follow the rules.

It's stupid that they direct you here when we can do literally nothing for you.

@TheHandcraftedOwlLLC    did support put a ticket in for you? Did you request a ticket number?  Since this happened "multiple times"  before did you receive an email(s) from etsy as to what happened?

Yes, I opened a ticket with support and they respond or I have also contacted them via Chat which does not seem to be available right now.

Had same problem. The system is faulty and hence a bit of a joke.

It's maddening!  If

Shops are being advertised basically  as look at these!  They're star sellars!  Then they better be able to judge their own criteria accurately.

Have you checked your shipping profiles are filled in correctly and have processing times? I've seen where it glitches and says items are not tracked on time if they don't have an actual processing time to compare against.

I believe that could easily be an issue!  
In this case, I shipped and completed the orders (with tracking) on the same day that the orders came in.

@TheHandcraftedOwlLLC: Have you looked at the applicable CSV file to see what Etsy thinks is going on?

Usually a day or two after the package has been scanned the CSV file correctly shows tracking and shipment status and the Star Seller stats auto update. This presumes that the shipper is supported by Etsy and that the shipped date, tracking number and shipping company show correctly on the actual order. Etsy relies on a third party vendor for tracking (and tracking number validation) and uses the data on the order.

Yes, that's what I was thinking as well. It's more likely that the CSVs eventually corrected themselves than that Etsy corrected anything.

Yes - when I saw that the statistic wasn't 100%, I downloaded the .csv as usual and checked it.  That is where 2 orders are listed as having no tracking/not shipped on time.  These 2 orders were shipped via USPS.  Yes, the shipped date & tracking are all correct and listed per USPS. They were both delivered Jan 4th.

The .csv has not updated, nor do I imagine it will.

"No tracking" can also mean:

* Your listing doesn't have a processing time attached, so the order will come up as a "no tracking" on your CSV.  

* If the carrier or the carrier's tracking numbers are not recognized by the Star Seller bots, your order will come up as a "no tracking."  

Among other things, the Star Seller program is meant to encourage sellers to use Etsy labels.  Star Seller carrier issues don't happen with Etsy labels because Etsy labels weed out everything not recognized by the SS bots.

The Star Seller system is full of bugs. Don't take it to heart. We lost status through no fault of ours just a bad and faulty set up.

It can take 24 to 48 hours for the system to update.  Make sure you did enter the correct tracking number.  Make sure your post office gives the item the next scan after the receipt scan.  If they are not it is possible it won't go to in-transit.  Do your packages say in-transit?  Etsy told me in an email that it is not the presence of the tracking number only but that the item is actually in transit by the end of the processing time frame.   

Etsy will not fix.  They have said they won't for individual sellers.  And they haven't been.

IF you won't use Etsy labels which gives commercial pricing, use Pirateship or another service that integrates with Etsy.  This reduces the chances that the tracking number will be not seen by Etsy's software.
