Spam messages

What the hell is going on with all the spam phishing messages, either purporting to be from etsy and etsy support. All with phishing links in the messages.

In the past month I`ve had about 7 of these and I wonder how many sellers are having their accounts hacked because they just clicked on the link on the message that said "payment system blocked" or "your account has been suspended" I checked my spam and it seems like these messages all started about middle of December.

My other issue is that once etsy have registered that these scammers have sent these messages and blocked or removed the user, the message still is sat in my inbox or spam folder - they should be automatically deleted.

I don't expect anything to be done to protect sellers but I felt like bringing this to others attention as I vehemently hate scammers with a passion.

All the best

David

Re: Spam messages

All you can do is mark the spam/scam messages as SPAM.

Re: Spam messages

It is a very big problem with these hackers trying to penetrate our accounts.
I hope there is no breach in the security system, for various reasons beyond our control. The fact is we must be careful and not enter any link provided. I'm afraid even of Etsy links, if any employee is corrupt?
