I seem to be batting 1,000 today. Earlier I missed printing the packing slip for a customer and needed to know how to retrieve it to print. In the meantime, I noted that shipping was in process. Now, I can't seem to show that the process is completed. It asks for a tracking number. It won't accept the number I put in because it's already been used, of course. How then can I show that this transaction is complete? Thank you in advance.
Did you buy an Etsy label?
Yes.
Is there a circular arrow with a check mark icon still showing on the order? Clicking that gives the option to complete.
I checked that and it asks for the tracking number which is on the label I purchased. When I select Complete it says "... tracking number is already in use for this order". I'm sure it will arrive to the person – I just don't want it remaining in my shop as needing to be shipped.
If you bought an Etsy label it automatically fills in the tracking number and moves to complete
@RetroLovern you are an experienced Seller - you know how it should go. What is different about this order? I'm not understanding how it's showing as an open order if you purchased an Etsy shipping label.
Me either. The only thing I did differently was that I updated the progress. Now, that item was sent yesterday but it is still showing up under "In progress" under Orders. I have tried to say it is completed but then it asks for the tracking number. I put in the number and am told "... tracking number is already in use for this order" and won't let it be marked as completed. So, how do I get it out of the in progress stage where it is now telling me that the item should have been shipped a day ago. Frustrating.
Did you accidentally cancel the label? If you cancel the label, the order will show that it needs to be shipped, and you will not be able to re-enter that label for the order, you would have to purchase another one. If the label is still valid, the order should show in your "completed" orders, not your "new" orders.
