Shopping Cart Doesn't Work

Hello, All,

I have a customer who says that the shopping cart won't work for her. This is not the first complaint that I've had. And there don't seem to be any humans working for Etsy who can help.

Any advice?

Tell them to remove from cart, or save for later, any items in cart.  Then re-add to cart, or use the Buy Now option.  Don't be swayed into taking a sale off of Etsy.

tjis does not work because you cannot get to the shopping cart at all because of the error its giving.

Using the app or desktop?  Desktop?  Have them refresh the page.  It could be too ad blocker or another extension is causing the problem. 

Using the app, ask them if they are using the newest one.  Have them check to see if their phone is interfering.

Do not be tempted to go outside of Etsy.  Sometimes that is the way buyers try to get you to take it off by saying the cart is not working.

Your items are going to be popular and as a new shop you can be targeted by buyers who have ill intentions.  One thing to do is finish your shop.  Get your policies in place.  Your about page.  

(BTW $3.00 is not going to work for shipping to all zones.  I suggest weighing your item packed and boxed. You cannot ship your items as flats for letter even if the fit.)

OP, often the buyer has too many items from different shops or countries in her basket. Tell her to empty basket and add back only your item. Then hit Buy It Now. If she is trying to buy more than one item from you, tell her to choose the most expensive one first. Buy each one separately.

So I am having the same issue, not being able to get to my shopping cart at all. It is giving an error and has been doing so for weeks. Its frustrating because I'm having to purchase items one at a time and is costing me more in shipping when purchasing several items from one shop

@EllieMayzCreations  You are piggybacking on an old thread.  I suggest starting your own thread and describing your problem more accurately.  I did not understand either of your problems.

Are any of you who are having the shopping cart issue talking about your Etsy Pattern site? On my site, and others I have searched out, you cannot click on the shopping cart on a product page. The cart works fine on the home page, shop page, contact page, and policy page, just not on the product page. You can add items to it from the product page but nothing will happen if you try to click on it. I did get ahold of a human in the chat support function just before xmas holiday who said it looked like a bug (obviously) and he sent it to tech support. Currently waiting for tech human to help.

@CegavskeArt This is an old post about the cart on Etsy not Pattern.  They are two separate things.
