Shop hacked

Hi,

I am having some strange things happening in my shop:

1. First, buyers are writting nice reviews, but leaving one or two stars

2. Etsy is deleting my listing, with no apparent reason. I have tried to fix anything that may be considered a problem, but then that listing is deactivated. I wish that I could ask someone why.

3. I got a purchase, and after mailing out the package, which was to New York, I recieved strange messages saying, from Etsy, Ireland, that there was a problem?

4. My shop is suddenly missing my information description.

I'm not sure if I've been hacked, or something else is happening - please help. Thank you, Kaye from shop Boho Style Me

I see one review like that in your shop.  Are there more that I'm missing?  Unfortunately, this does happen.  It does not point to a shop break-in, however, it's just something that well meaning buyers can do.

I do see the other unhappy buyer who explained the reason she left a negative review.

Re: Shop hacked

Sounds to me like just normal Etsy behavior.  Tests, glitches, etc.

Re: Shop hacked

1. I only saw one 2* review that had positive remarks.
Then a 1* review that was complaining about a broken charm from March.

2. If Etsy is removing listings, it could be you used a prohibited word or your items were found on other websites so Etsy thinks you're reselling and not making the item.

3. Did that message come to your email or to your messages on Etsy?
If on Etsy, then and if from Etsy, it would have been in your FROM ETSY folder.
What kind of problem?

4. What is missing in the description? I looked at several items and all had a description.

As for being hacked you can look at who's logged into you account  go to account settings > security tab.
You can see the IP address, browser, location and if someone hacked your shop, then these would be different.

If you need help you need to contact Etsy from the HELP pages, since it's doubtful Etsy will respond here.

Are you referring to your shop announcement?  That has been moved lower on the page below our listings.  Don't ask me why Etsy did this, but all shops you look at will show this move.

Re: Shop hacked

It sounds to me  that your shop has not been hacked--it is more about you simply don't know all the "ins and outs of Etsy". One thing to be very careful of is those messages that may not be from Etsy but from some sort of scammer. See the post above for @vintageNCtreasures  on how to determine this.

Usually if Etsy takes down a listing that you have posted they will send you a message but sometimes those fall thru the cracks. Chances are pretty great, though, that you listed some sort of prohibited item(s). If you tell us what some of them are perhaps we can make a best guess!

Re: Shop hacked

Agree with the above comments.   I doubt hacked.      I just checked out your Shop.  Looks so nice!  Beautiful jewelry!   Faved some items and like your shop.    Descriptions were there for me to read and yes, Etsy moved some things around a few months ago.  I did see your shop announcement.    :))

id be careful too with messages!  Scammers working overtime everywhere now!  Don’t click on anything!
