Shipping date recorded late in POD integration / manual shipping entry

Hello--

As a new seller (I have 6 sales that I have made through Printful, a POD company), I am currently showing (incorrectly) that my 4th and 5th sale were late-to-ship.  As a new seller, I trusted the automated shipping status updates from Printful to Etsy were maintained in real-time.  I understood there was a way to manually enter in shipping data, but I thought that was for sellers who do the shipping directly (not indirectly as through a POD company).  I was unsure what would happen if I manually overrode the integrated process.  Shipping was executed on-time, but to Etsy, those two sales both look like they were a day late.  After the 5th sale, I decided to take a chance and enter the data manually when I saw the same thing was about to happen again.  Now that I understand that overriding works and will help me avoid slow updates in the future, but now I am left with 1/3 of my shipments being calculated as late even though all have been on time and my SEO has been non-existent since the first "late" shipment--making it hard to make additional on-time sales to fix my status.  Is there a way to have Etsy override this data anomaly?

Thanks! -Sonj

@AdvantageDS: Unfortunately Etsy will say there is no anomaly. Since any integration can fail, their position is that it is a shop's responsibility to ensure that the shipping data is entered correctly and on time. A shop does have 72 hours to correct tracking data but cannot back date the shipped date.

It sounds like there is a disconnect between your POD and Etsy.  I would start with the POD and find out if you have correctly linked everything.  If I remember correctly there is a point were the item may sit until the user okays the manufacturer.  So it is possible something is not corrected correctly.

Yeah, there can be a day sometimes 2 days lag between when the POD shows it shipped and when the integrations update on etsy and mark it shipped here. The easiest way to deal with it is to adjust your production times by a few days to allow for some wiggle room. Note that you will need to create your own shipping profiles and link each listing to those profiles vs using the auto generated profiles printful created to do this. If you just adjust things on the profile printful generated then every time your shop syncs it will adjust the production time back to whatever printful has it set at, basically the change won't stick. You have to create your own profiles and you can make changes to it without it reverting back whenever things sync.

Integrations aren't flawless and sometimes an order never gets marked shipped or never syncs and shows up on your POD site. It does happen. You should check in with both etsy and your POD production partner site to keep an eye on orders are least once or twice a day just to make sure everything is moving and syncing as it should be.

Thanks all! I think for me the frustration was is that I was on top of it. I just didn’t know what my options were at the time or what would happen if I overrode the status. There’s no clear guidance on that. And as a result, I’m paying the price. Boo!
