Adding one more post to this mess. I add my USPS tracking numbers to each order manually, and so far this month none of them have made it on to the CSV. All but one of these items has been delivered and looking up the tracking number bears this out on the USPS web site.
Is there a way to even contact a person and get some help anymore? This is messing with our money, here.
they have to be added, when you mark as completed, and before the estimated dispatch date
This has been done. Nothing has changed on our end but the tracking ceased to function at the end of February.
spent over an hour with a chat agent last night because of this same issue. I currently have 4 orders that are marked as “pre-transit” that have not updated despite the attached tracking numbers showing that they were shipped on time AND already received by the customer.
because if this I won’t be receiving my star seller badge for April. The Chat agent, Laine, said it would be forwarded to a tech agent to discern the problem, but I have little faith that this will actually happen…
I have the exact same problem!! I’m going to lose star seller, and it’s clearly an error on Etsy’s end!!
If etsy /aftership/shipper have a breakdown somewhere, it is counted against us, its the way it works, as it's all done by bots .... etsy says don't worry, as they'll drop off after 3 months
Tracking may not be visible for one of these reasons:
I'm having the same issue - I've got over two dozen orders that are marked as "pre-transit" despite the USPS tracking showing the packages either en route or having been delivered. (And I've got about a dozen more to ship today.)
My concern is that since the orders aren't updating to show as delivered, these customers could potentially file a claim and Etsy could potentially automatically approve these claims and issue automatic refunds.
Additionally, my stats have dropped and I will also lose my star seller badge- which I've maintained since the program started.
Anyone who says this isn't an issue must not realize that buyers can now filter to see search results only from star sellers- a feature which many seem to use.
In the past when items have been stuck in "pre-transit" you could re-enter the tracking manually and push it through, and it would update. But that isn't working this time.
Hopefully, they will get this resolved soon. This could result in a huge loss monetarily for many of us. I'm hesitant to ship out orders at this point.
huge numbers of sellers here don't even ship tracked, because of the cost,
it's not as problematical as you might think for tracking to be missing, or wrong
I have seen pretty much this exact response from multiple people. Nothing seems to be happening to fix any of it. Meanwhile people are getting dinged on their star seller ratings which translates directly to lost sales.
I have has star seller, and not had it, it doesn't translate into lost sales, and etsy specifically states we are not penalised for not having star seller
In the meantime, please know that Etsy understands that Star Seller may not be viable for every shop. Star Seller is not a disciplinary program and sellers will not be penalized for low scores.
“Not penalized” is not the same thing as “promoted equally.” Star seller demonstrably equates to higher sales. Whatever they call it, losing star seller is absolutely a penalty by any meaningful definition.
I just talked to Etsy help, they are aware and are working on it!
I have lost my star seller this month, and my sales have increased over last year, and quite a lot over last month
and I am still on first page of search
for a long time, aftership didn't recognise Royal mail, but that didn't affect sales either
.... and as the usps seems a widespread thing, then your competitors will be in exactly the same boat, so if you truly believe it has an affect, it will have the same affect on you all - so will nullify
Star Seller does not equate higher sales. Etsy says "Star Sellers sell 17% more...." but it's not due to Star Seller. It's a chicken/egg thing.
Of course large, established shops with Star Seller outsell new shops and small shops! But It is not due to the Star. Buyers aren't seeking out the star. Most won't notice it.
Etsy has also claimed that Star Seller gives you a boost in search. Another exaggeration. If your listing is on page 85, it might move it to 83. But it won't move you to page one, two, or three. This one is easy to test. Just do 3 searches. Make one large, one small, one random. You will find numerous shops without the star on page 1, 2, and 3. Go check page 25 and beyond. You will find Star Sellers languishing on page 45, 60. 80.
In the searches I did, about half the shops on the first three pages were not Star Sellers.
While I understand the desire to get and keep Star Seller, it doesn't truly award you anything but a little purple *.
I had this same issue with a few of my orders. Labels purchase through Pirateship. Tracking automatically uploaded to Etsy. Etsy shows as "pre-transit", but when clicking the link the USPS website said "delivered". I got a hold of Etsy support on chat and they took all of about 2 minutes to say they'd look into it before coming back online confirming it was an issue on their end and that they'd take care of it. An hour later all was good and I was back at 100% for Star Seller shipping rating. Not sure why folks are having issues getting help from Etsy support on this.
